Salaam aleikum sisters.

I dont feel like writing too much here in the sisters forum since the brothers also can see it, its not too nice i think ;) But alhamdulillah this forum seems nice and cool enough.

I am a Norwegian sister, with 2 kids, married to an Algerian for 9 years.

What i really wanted to know is that is there any sisters in niqaab here? I sometimes feel very alone here in my town, as there is very few sisters in hijab even. Just some 3 or 4, and i am the only one in niqaab. We live in a remoted city way up north in Norway.

I wish u all a nice day inshaAllah.

Welcome to Madina Sister Bint...

I am very thankful too, for the wonderful Brothers & Sisters that we have within this forum… Subhan Allah.
I dont feel like writing too much here in the sisters forum since the brothers also can see it
I believe you will find the brothers here obliging & respectful of your request of modesty … Insha Allah. They seem to be some pretty sincerely practicing fellows… Allahu Alam. They truly have offered some insightful perspective within my short time upon the board…. Subhan Allah.

The Sisters are very dear….

Well the only thing with the sisters section not beeing closed is that i feel i cant talk about any sisterly thing in there, afraid of causing fitna. But then again there is always the anonomous option ;)

But alhamdulillah i found some really good fatwah sites for the difficoult questions anyway. But still, i dont think it is so right that brothers and sisters are free mixing, even if it is just internet, it is still not alowed...

"free mixing on the internet"?

here we discuss ideas and problems and support each other, just like the men and women did at the time of the rasul [saw] within islamic guidelines of haya'..  there isn't any "free-mixing" alhamdulillah

But *sometimes* we do joke around with non-mehrams here which was not the practice at the Final Prophet [saw]'s time.

See this thing has been wobbling around in my head since long and here is an opportunity to vent.

This place is gr8 and all of us learn alot from each other (i learned how to be patient and read looooooooong articles *smiles* ) but its not *perfect*! as perfection is something thats nearly impossible to achieve. Having said that, we can't take it for granted and should strive for more taqwa.

Alhamdulillah there is nothing in here that'll cause 'fitna' but u r right in a way that sometimes our interaction is not business like. So i'll rate this place 9.5 on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest and its the best that you'll find on the internet *smiles*

You can always choose to be as to-the-point as you can/want.
wassalam
Your brother.

PS: and i kinda feel uneasy when one uses a wink smiley while addressing someone from opposite gender but they say that this [ ;) ] means "you know" (like 'you know' as in 'you got my point' ) but i was always taught that this [ ;) ] means ;) ........ hm..... all about terminologies ....

PS2: I know that ur wink smiley was for sisters so PS1 wasn't targetted at you  :)

Marhaba ya ukthi!!!  (((hugs)))  Welcome to the board....have a nice refreshing Qibla cola courtesy of moi  []

MashaAllah sis....a fellow niqaabi  ;D  I understand totally where you're coming from.....there are plenty of hijaabis round where I live alhamdulillah, but fewer niqaabis, although in recent times the number of sisters who choose to cover all has increased dramatically :)

When I first started wearing it, I got some funny looks sure (other people would tell me seeing as my gaze was lowered  ;) ) but then you think, I do this for the sake of pleasing Allah swt, and in order to achieve that we have to sacrifice our own desires....people are much more wary after 9/11, but inshaAllah it will be a chance for us to offer dawah to people who are curious and ask us why we cover the way we do.

Ultimately, all we do is for His sake alone...and may He swt continue to give you taufeeq, Ameen :)  Awesome sis...only 3/4 hijaabis too  :o  SubhanAllah....

Love you for the sake of Allah swt

as salaamu alaykum,

I think every person on the board has a choice.. about what discussions they get involved in, what they choose to write, what tone they choose to use, what smiley's they use to end their sentences, etc..

In the Naseeha Corner, some madina members are discussing how an Islamic state should be run.. it's interesting that traditionally the sphere of influence of the islamic state was the public realm -- it did not 'govern' in every aspect of an individual's life, but only came into play in maintaining order, and in interfering when something harmful was committed in public, or in a way that affected the society at large.

So..  if you feel that something is crossing the line into harming the community here at large, you should bring it to the attention of the administrators and mods.. and there have been times in the past where certain posts/threads were removed because they want way beyond the bounds of Islamic adab.  but, other than that.. I think it is really up to each individual on here to maintain the demeanor they feel is appropriate within the guidelines of Islam.

wAllahu a'lam..

wasalaamu alaykum :-)
