| [slm] 9 to 5 ? Is it just us Paki ITers or this timing also sounds like a joke to you guys? It has been at least 9 hours of work on the average for me, so 9 to 6... 6:15 is the norm and then there is drive time and getting-ready/dressing-up time. It comes down to 8:00AM to 6:45PM! Ah! the Robomen. But alhamdulillah for a job. So are there any lucky 9-2-5 ITers here? :) |

| [slm] When I was working shift, this is my shift pattern :- Morning - 6:15am to 3:00pm Evening- 9:15pm to 6:00am Tuesday to Saturday. However, it is a miracle going back at 3:00pm in the afternoon or coming at 9:15 pm in the evening OR having 2 days break. I remembered doing 2 mths 12 hrs 7 days a week shift work. We change shift every week. This is the 1st year that I *might* be able to celebrate eid with family. Getting dangerously used to the idea of celebrating eid at work. Oh btw, I live in a Muslim majority country. So, now I work on "normal shift". No more changing shift. Monday to Friday. Starts work at 7:30am till 4:30pm. But, am not an IT person ;) more on hardware/manufacturing. So, days are spend firefighting and after 4:30pm spend for planning etc. Unfortunately since I have to deal with others who have different time zone than I am, have to stay at night for conference call. Oh, not to mention weekends. Seriously, all I want to be is a farmer and have 12 kids. |
