[/i] The Muslim Student Association of RIT, RIT Anti War, and Metro Justice presents “Jihad,” an event explaining the true definition of the concept and the controversy surrounding the word. Sheikh Idris S. Hamid, a Muslim leader and a professor from the University of Colorado will address and explain the true definition and the fundamentals of the concept of Jihad according to Islam. We will also discuss the impact of the “war on terrorism” and the negative stereotyping of Muslims now so common in the United States and the influential role of the media which reinforces the racism and discrimination.
