The busiest time for my business has arrived and I would like to see if anyone would like to share any of their crock pot recipies.
Crock Pots are great, stuff them in the morning, work all day and come home to the house smelling great and dinner done.   ;)

Maybe we can make this a crockpot/casserole/fall/winter time thread.
Share your crock pot and casserole dish recipies and also any tips on how to save time or kitchen type suggestions.

One of mine tips, I love to cook double.  You have the stove on anyway so mine as well make the most of the utilities right  :-[  I try to cook two of the same casseroles, or the meat loaf, manicotti, and even is making mashed potatoes double the pot and put half in a zip lock bag (after coolong of course  ;D  ) use half and freeze half.

Double up and in a month you'll have a months of dinners all you need do is thraw and microwave. Imagine if you stock pile and those days when the traffic was rough, you spent more time at an activity than you thought or when you just plain flat out are tired.   ;)

Double up when you make a pot of soup too.
Save time, utilities and have a break when you need it.
That is my tip for the thread and I'll post some casserole recipies late.
Who can share a few tips and some crock pot recipies please   :)

Oh and final hint/tip: My mom is alone and who alone wants to make whole meals when it is just you, I know I didn't when I was alone. So I went out and bought a reasonal priced freezer set (small sized containers) and made meals and sometimes extras and made up individual potions and took my mom many meals at one time, she only needed to thaw and microwave  ;D  She loved it. (But she always liked my cooking  :P [s] see I can cook NOMI[/s]  This is something that would be appreciated by singles, elderly and college folks don't you think?

Would be a nice gift giving thing/act of kindness thing, woman in a group get together or do at home and bring on a certain day (group, mosque) can once or twice a year make up a bunch of stuff for the single bros and sisters to take home  :-[

The best one i can think of is Haleem ( :P droooool)

This began, as far as i know as a left over dish, Fry off some onions in a little oil and brown some meat pieces (either sheep or beef is good for this)
once that is done you add small amts of different lentils (eg split chickpea, red lentils, peeled urid daal, anything really that u have lying around) also some pearl barley....add spices and water and coook on a low heat for as long as possible, we cook it over 2 days.....the meat will have become really really soft and fall apart when u mix it. temper some whole cumin in some olive oil or ghee if u have and pour over the top
serve with fresh chopped corriander, ginger, chillies, and lemon slices and bread or naan or whatever u fancy

now this is where the problem comes over here u get pre prepared packets with the right quantity and mixture of lentils and spices so u just have to add water, meat and onions..... so tho my mom knows how to make it properly, i would just use the packet  :( tastes just as good just a bit easier for me....don't know the quantities of spices to use......perhaps someone could let Cara know the amts of everything....failing that i'll see if i can ask my mum, but u know how it is "oh i don't know just some of this some of that  ::)

....well good luck and happy cooking
