Or you could always give in and drink Mecca Cola, that way you feel good on two factors one your drinking it and two the profits are going to charity. Obviously the more you drink the more sawaab you'll make, so happy drinking and happy ramadan.

Salaams

p.s. just be careful that all your teeth don't drop out before your marrige.

Reflect, help those who I can and pray for all Muslims for our UNITY.

By the way, Mecca Cola is now availabe in Nairobi.  And Muslims are abandoning Coca Cola for it!  Yepee! I have never been a fun of Coca Cola, Fanta, Pepsi etc., etc.  All give me constipation.

Once again, I only have one real resolution (I resolve to accomplish this every year, 6x a year, at every available opportunity, including Ethiopian New Year, and no I'm not Ethiopian)....

My resolution is...

*drum roll, please*

...to stop complaining.  (Insha Allah!!)

Wasalaam.

I got a question, if you Read the Quran in English is it the same as it would be in Arabic? Or do you hafta' read it in Arabic.

However, my new years resolution would be to pray all prayers, (obligatory, sunnah, and optional) and to read quran in English or try in Arabic every day and FAST of course... and learn about my religion.  :-X

1) To fulfil my trusts. Always start out with wellsprings of hope and good intention...but somewhere along the way my commitments crumble in my chaotic mind and are only resurrected much later, when opportunities have passed and people are angry. Yaqeenan, my forgetfulness is the result of sin  :'(  :'(  :'(

2) To take each moment as it comes instead of worrying so much about...everything. Someone told me once that the present moment of your life is demanding that you play a certain part - look to that for the time being, and you'll find all the other moments just fall into place...

Wasalaam

PS Medo those are very noble aspirations  :-* May Allah make it easy for you. A note concerning the Quran question: you do have to read the Arabic for some things...if you want the reward of reading it for Allah's sake, then it is each letter of the Arabic that carries that blessing. Don't worry if you find it difficult - the harder it is for you the greater the reward. Allah is Karim :)

That said, do read translations as they will nourish your mind by giving you the sense of it, and blend most beautifully with the wonderful, melodic recitations by the qari (or yourself :)) to reach your heart with a fuller power and poetry. All of which makes it easier to realise that this is not just a revelation brought by Jibraeel over 1400 years ago, but Allah's Living Speech to you and for you, right here, right now...

[slm] all

I have been ill the whole of last week...and was kinda bedridden on two of those days.  Yesterday was the first tarawih...and it was soo painful for me.  I feel as if my bones are made of fiery metal.  My throat hurts and I have been experiencing bloody spittles.  However....because of these illness I realise how precious this Ramadan is for we never know, it might be our last.

Inshaa Allah, my resolution for this Ramadan has somewhat undergone some changes due to my illness..so here they are.

1.  To do as many tarawih prayers as possible.

2.  To recite the Qur'an and finish the whole book within Ramadan.

3.  To finish at least 2 major papers I owe my Professors.

4.  To spend more time doing dhikr and making du'as and less time talking...

Please make du'ah for my recovery.  I don't mind sufferig the pain but to be too sick to even hold my daughter in my arms is just too painful for me..

Wassalam.
