as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

did anyone go?  how was it?  br. Naeem Muhammad from Native Deen was just telling me about how AMAZING the event was.. I wanna hear the details!!

I was just checking out the slide show on the Mountain of Light website:
http://www.mountainoflight.com/

It seems like there were some amazing people there.. Abdul Hakim Winter.. Sh. Hamza.. Prince Naseem.. Yusuf Islam of course.. Native Deen, Zain Bhika etc etc.. giving some amazing performances.. and that it was a sold out event with like 5000 people.. dude it sounds amazing :)
Something to look forward to...

I went to the recent Yusuf Islam charity concert entitled, "Night of Remebrance".  Alhamdulillah, was all good :)  Simply awesome performances from the likes of Zain Bhikha, Qatrunada, and Yusuf Islam himself!

We got the oppurtunity to listen to a preview of his upcoming album, I look I see, due for release around Eid time inshaAllah.  With the addition of the Islamia school choir, it's perfect for lil and big kids alike ;D

You know brother Naeem ukthi??  :o :o :o  Wow, how, if you don't mind me asking..?

Yep..the event was unmissable...brilliant talk by Br Winter as well as an inspiring and thought-provoking talk by none other than Shaykh Hamza.

Prince Naz (the boxer) also added some words which definitely needed to be heard and reiterated for the whole ummah.  He said to the audience, that we are Muslims, we are as one ummah....we need to feel the pain and shed the tears for those who are oppressed....and he also talked about the powerful weapon that is du'a.  Never underestimate the power of a heartfelt du'a...subhanAllah, so true.

Zain Bhikha's son, Rashid was also there....he's been signed onto the label too :)  Highlight was at the end...when all the perfomers got on stage and sang Tala'al badru alaina together  :-*

Ooh...and the brothers from the states......awesome.....I don't need to get high, some ppl do and some ppl die.....was in my head the whole night ;) hehe

May Allah swt reward all those involved for their efforts, Ameen.

Salaams,

Sadly another event where the large number of Muslims have missed out. I can't understand the event organisers, why they simply just go for London and only London.
Look at the Muslim Islamic Events list and up to 70% of all activities are conducted in or around London. Whereas my brothers and sisters from the North would have taken great benefit from this.

Salaams

BroHanif your post struck me as funny as I was just lamenting over 'why can't we have something like that here in the US!!'  ...... Ok so, isn't London a huge city with a ton of Muslims?? Maybe that's why they did it there!! and why can't Muslims of North England organize their own stuff??

Bro Naeem is a member of the board.. maybe he can share his thoughts on visiting London and the community there :) please prettyyyyyyy pleaseeeee with fish and chips?
