First Ramadan

I'm just ending the first day of my first Ramadan now, and I really don't feel well. I'm really dizzy and tired. I was doing quiet well until about 2 hours ago, when I started to feel sick. I was just wondering if this is normal, or if I should see a doctor. I didn't overeat. Just some water and dates for suhoor, and the same thing at the end, and some soup (milk, barley, honey). I just want to know if I should be worried about this, or if it should get better.

You've never ever fasted before??? Hmmm it might have been easier to work your way up by doing half days every now and then until ramadan comes rather than shocking ur system all at once.

Sometimes I feel dizzy or sick and it's cause I know I'm not getting the proper nutrition and not drinking enough water. Usually I just go take a nap. Once I did get really really sick and broke my fast, so perhaps fast until u know u can't take it anymore?

Wondering where u are cause I heard only Syria and Jordan are fasting today?

[slm] sis

I always feel sick on the first day of Ramadan.  I feel nauseous and there is normally a huge pounding in my head.  I drink a lot and therefore fasting causes my body to go into dehydration mod.  Usually I sleep it off or I take wudhu' so that my skin is at least cool.

Like what sis Jannah said, if this is your first time, please do it in stages for verily Allah SWT Knows.  It doesnt matter if u are an adult or a child, if you are fasting for the first time, take it slow for the appreciation of the trials and beauty of fasting is very important too aside from the act itself.

Take note of the symptoms of your illness.  If u are a hearty eater, then make sure u take substantial suhoor.  Also eat nutritious food when u break your fast.  Plus..lotsa WATER.

My du'ah may Allah SWT Give you ease to perform this ibadah, Amin.

Wassalam

Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, Sudan, Yemen, Djibouti, Tajiskstan, Palestine  plus many Muslims here and all over the world because if that many Muslims saw the moon then we should all fast together.   :-* :-* :-)
