Young Muslim Moms?

Salaam Aleikum,

I live in the Albany, NY area and wanted to start a club for young muslim moms. I want to
help young muslim moms to connect with each other and have others that they can relate
to. The age limit would be up to 30 years old. Can anyone give me suggestions on how I can
find young  muslim moms and help create the club?

Thanks

What a wonderful idea.

Some ideas and thoughts if I may  :)

Make up some flyers of notice, what your purpose is and the date of the first get together. Make the flyers colorful, short, blunt, to the point and cute.

Take flyers to nearest Islamic schools, nearest Islamic centers and the local Mosque. Ask Muslim business owners if you can leave a half of a dozen flyers on their counters.
Some light refreshments and WALAAAAAAAAAAAAAA sit back and enjoy your new group.

If not to many moms show up the first time don't take it as a bad thing, sometimes it take 2 or 3 to get going and if only 2 or 3 show up the first time they will each tell 2 or 3 more ladies.

Other ideas:

Plan, pick a day and time and invite.
Pick a place and a day for a meeting about 2 to 3 weeks out.
(one week is to short of time/notice and a month away is to far as they'll get busy and forget.)

Ask your local Mosque if you can use a room there or if you have a big enough home maybe you can have it at home.

Before the meeting maybe make a list of ideas you have to share with the other sisters, Is this going to be informal or semi-formal? Will you meet monthly or semi-monthly? Have a different topic each meeting?

I wish you great success, I think it's a wonderful idea.

I am wondering why you want only young Muslim moms?

Some of us are older but have young children.  I did not have my first child until I was 35!

I am sure I would have benefited from a group like the one you are setting up.

May Allah swt make it easy for you.

How about changing it to Muslim mums (moms) with young kids?

I think the group is good idea. If I may, I think the reason why the sister entitled the group Young Muslim Moms because young mothers usually have different experiences and feelings dealing with parenthood than an older mother with young children. Allahu Alim. Ofcourse all mothers will go through many of the same experiences, but I do feel categories (young vs. old) are needed some times.

For the record, I 23 and I have a two year old daughter Alhamdulilah.
