MashaAllah...sounds like a good plan.  I would volunteer, but my fictional attempts have led to a lot of wasted ink and crumpled paper.  This board and my blog are as creative as I can get.

Good luck with it, though!

Wasalaam.

I am inspiring to write as you. I want to write Muslim stories that will inspire young kids. Is that your goal as well?

Well shukran JustOne for writing.

Madina, yes that is my goal mainly. I write urban Islamic fictional stories mostly for young Muslims (16 - 25) to be inspired by. Also, I am interested in writing short Islamic stories for toddlers/children as well. But right now that is sorta a side point to the other stuff.

Insha'Allah, if your interested and have some work to show... or would like to work on a story line with me email me personally! Shukran

Insha'Allah, I hope to hear more sisters!!

I too  have thought of writing some books for muslims kids. My ideas were aimed sort of towrd the pre teen categories or maybe like 14 year olds. I don't think older bro's and sis's have t :)hat much time to read fiction, dealing with high school, and college etc.

I think older muslims, teenagers and young adults are are perfect group to target. If the book is entertaining (in halal manner ofcourse) and informative, they would be the most responsive Insha'Allah.

Any other sisters out there who write fiction?? Come out Come out, where ever you are!!

I've wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember.  As I said in my intro post elsewhere, though, I don't know a lot about Islam but as my knowledge grows I'd enjoy delving into it.  At school I'm minoring in Anthropology so I'm hoping to someday do some case studies/ethnographies on diferent Muslim communities... particularly Muslim women.

Has anyone read "Three Mothers, Three Daughters"?  It's really intriguing and a wonderful read....  I'd like to write something like that someday.  Sorry this really isn't all too too pertinent to your requests.... I just get excited when I see fellow aspiring authors.  :-X
