| [slm] I will be graduating and was looking for a computer related internship or job. I was wondering if either any of you or someone you might know can give me some connections. Its hard fiding something on your own and my advisor said the best thing to do is network. So here i am :) [wlm] |

| [slm] Well bro the job market is not so good these days but people do get jobs, you'll get one too inshaAllah. Actually i was thinking of starting a thread of such sort a while back, the thing is that my friends from abroad who are FOBs told me that the ex-desis arn't that co-operative! Like if someone had problems finding a job or setting a business then he wont share experience but in fact would like to see you face the same hardships that he did!! (pathetic) I'm not generalizing but what i said does happen a lot. I really wish that we Muslims should have a strong network, we should do our utmost to help our brothers, specially the strangers in town aka FOBs. I believe the ITers on here will use their links to help you inshaAllah. Whats you area of expertise, i mean what was your major? where you from? |

| [slm] I am a Computer Networking major. I live in the Albany, NY area. Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping of finding people in the computer field that would advise me as to how to enter in. It is hard and just because one obtains a degree does not make it any easier. Which is strange considering that we go all those years to get the degree so we can get our foot in the door. Yet this is not the case. Oh and by the way...i was wondering why you all assumed i was a "bro"? I never said so and my name certainly didnt suggest it. | [slm] a)This is Ramdan time so make a lot of duaas Inshallah every thing will work out b)There is a placement firm called Keen/Kaen in Corparate Woods check that place out c)I dont know about Albany area but there is placemnt firm in Pittsburgh who places people in PA (www.rizglobal.com) check them out first before you send anything to them and if you do just tell them you were reffered by some one in Albany(Riyaz's friend) and they will understand [wlm] |
