Question about praising Allah(Soebhana wa Ta'ala)?

Bismillah arRahman arRahiem
Salaam alaykum everyone and Ramadan Mubarak!

I have a question about the following ayah: "And unto Allah falleth prostrate whosoever
is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, as do their shadows in the
morning and the evening hours."(Surah ar-Ra'd:15).
My question is, does this mean that everything on earth praises Allah constantly? Our
hands will speak for/against us after we die, does this mean our bodies praise Allah while
we are alive also? And what about things made by man, does absolutely everything praise
Allah constantly? If so, this would be a strong encouragement to take better care from
staying away from doing haram and take better care of the earth. If anyone could answer my
question and back it up with clear proof/tafsier, i would be very grateful.

wa Salaam alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu.

I do not have the answer to your question, but I know where you can find the answer.

go to  www.islam-qa.com

select your languange, e.g. English

and post your questions.

btw, there are many questions on Quran Exegesis, under the t :-)opic, Quran and its sciences.

exegesis = tafseer.

InshaAllah, you will find the answer to your question.

btw, I am also curious to find out the answer to your question.

as salaamu alaykum,

I typed up the notes from a khatira (short lecture) I attended a while back, in which the speaker talked about dhikr and the environment.. I will copy/paste the notes from that part of the lecture below:

[color=black]
environment

everything around us, animate and inanimate -- trees, flowers, water, wind, clouds, thunder, thorns, ants -- all are in dhikr of Allah, in tasbeeh.

[Everything (shay') performs dhikr, but you understand not..]  -- Qur'an

this includes the blood flowing through my body, particles, everything.. reflect deeply upon this.. Am I in dhikr?  Am I in harmony with the state of dhikr of everything around me?

Our love for the environment stems from knowing that these things have value in and of themselves.. they are companions in this journey of ubudiyyah [worship]-- and just like I wouldn't disturb a person in prayer, I wouldn't want to disturb a leaf, an ant, a tree in prayer..

Think about how different this love of nature is from non-Muslims who claim a love for nature.. our love does not stem from the notion that nature has an entertaining capacity for me, but something much deeper than that

Everything in the heavens and the earth prays for one who teaches others khayr -- angels, ants, and even the fish in the sea

What should our reaction be to the things around us now that we know this?  -- we should perpetrate no violence against them.  Allah has created them for us, to maximize our experience, for us to reflect upon and increase in yaqeen [certainty in faith], and to sustain ourselves.. but we should use only what we need to fulfill ubudiyyah to Allah.

Any use or interaction with the environment that violates this need, violates what Allah has allowed for me.. the more I internalize this, the more I will use the environment to help me become nearer to Allah.

From this we realize that one who is yet to know Allah, who is not fulfilling ubudiyyah, is destructive not just to himself, not just to other people, but to the world itself.

Why is this, why is such a person so destructive?
Because the only way to fulfill all needs is Al-Kaffey - Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, the Satisfier, Fulfiller of all needs.. Allah asks us in the Qur'an -- does not Allah fulfill all needs?

And one who does not turn to Allah for this will continue to seek to fulfill more and more needs..  there is no kaffey.. just this cycle of creating and striving to fulfill unending needs.. no peace, satisfaction in this vicious cycle

consumer society is based on this absence of the Ultimate Sufficer.. we need to turn away from this and seek solace and fulfillment of our needs in Him, alone, azza wa jaal.

I posted the original question last week and became registered as a member yesterday. I love this board! All of you are so kind and helpful. Ramadan mubarak everyone!
Se7en, thank you for your post, i went to the q&a site Faith mentioned(thank you!) but i couldn't find the answer there and it said that during ramadan they're only answering questions concerning ramadan. Your post was really enlightening, could you also tell me to what source it can be traced back?
I did some searching too and came up with this:
A short explanation on surah al-Israa:44 wich talks about the glorification of Allah as well.
"The seven heavens and the earth and the Believers, from the angels, men and jinn - within them praise and glorify Allah, declaring Him free from all defects. There is nothing from His creation except that it praises and glorifies Him, yet you do not comprehend their praises."

In the 'Explanation of the three fundamental principles of Islam' by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen, i found on p.180 :
"That the perception of the creation is limited to what Allah, the Most High, has enabled them to reach and perceive, and they cannot reach and perceive everything that exists. So the seven heavens and the earth and all within them, and everything glorifies and praises Allah in a true and real sense, and Allah the Most High, allows this to be heard sometimes by whomever He wills from His creation, yet this is something hidden from us."

Also on www.tafsir.com a hadeeth is mentioned with surah ar-Ra'd:
(But you understand not their glorification.) means, `You do not understand them, O mankind, because it is not like your languages.' This applies to all creatures generally, animal, inanimate and botanical. This is the better known of the two opinions according to the most reliable of two opinions. It was reported in Sahih Al-Bukhari that Ibn Mas`ud said: "We used to hear the Tasbih of the food as it was being eaten. ''
