| [slm] Ok, so I have a website, how do I get it hosted and register a domain name, and which place is the best for this kind of stuff, in terms of pricing? (please use DSP*) What kind of bandwidth would I get, and do you think all the good names are taken? ??? DSP= desi standard pricing. p.s. this looks like a job for Super FOB |

| Salaams, Strange post bro??? Simply get acopy of Internet Works and find out which is a good host provider in your area. Have you tried Enoor.com I think this site is hosted by em, the thing is if you have Islamic stuff and you get a lot of hits and I mean a lot then its better to go with a Muslim provider or someone who is sensative to Islam. As the Muslim Association of Britain found out recently someone didn't like em and they simply terminiated the contract with MAB, website was down for 48 hours. Its a good site considering they had 2.5 million visits during the height of the Iraq war. Hosting in the UK costs 20 pounds thats like 15 dollars for a year I think. As for names what kind of site is it, what will you provide etc etc??? Then decide on your name. Like it or not the most favorite site with the highest hits at one time were the most moral and society degrading ones. You know my point!. Salaams, Hanif |

| Assalam ailikum wa rahmatulah. Do a search on [url]http://www.webhostingtalk.com[/url] for good hosting details. There are tons of scam artists out there and this is a good way to find out who has had bad experiences with what hosts. Domain names: [url]http://mydomain.com[/url] or [url]http://www.domains875.com[/url] for $8.50 per year (pretty cheap), and $8.75 a year domain names |

| This is the cheapest place I found: http://www.gandi.net/. THough I can't vouch for it's reliability. Should be okay considering they're not hosting your site, just registering your domain name. Persoanlly I registered from dotster.com (before I knew about the former). Can't help much about hosting. Most of them are far to expensive for DSP.
