Is there a need for?

Ok, hopefully no one will think I'm being weird.
But lately my heart is nagging me and I wanted to share what is on my heart and ask the sisters on the board if there is a need for this?
Actually I have 2 different ideas that have come upon my heart and are nagging at me. Don't know if I could ever get these off the ground.

1) Is there a need for a Muslim womans retreat lodge? Out in the woods, mini cabins or one main lodge with rooms. Centrel eatting and cooking area. Cooking and eatting together. Also a huge room with sofa's, recliners and such with wall unit book cases with lots of books. A fireplace to talk and read in front of. Out in the woods offering many activities in both the winter and summer months. Indoor pool all private. For sisters only and where Islamic centers around the country can reserve a week a year.

If there is a need, can you share your ideas for such a place. What about spa type relax treatments? What is Islamically correct? Is a womans only pool ok?

2) Is there a need for a mini community type retreat for single Muslim woman and single Muslim moms, a place they can live and go to school, no rent, babysitting or other type concerns. Out in the country. Maybe with a 2 year limit, time to get ones education and finances in order. Can work and save for a home of their own or go to college or trade school?

Not to sound weird, these things have been strongly on my mind and heart.
What do you all think?

1) Wow.  :o There is definetly a need for that! I live just a couple of miles outside of Dearborn, MI (it has the highest population of Arabs outside the Middle-East) and you'd probably be suprised that there really aren't any Muslim Women Retreats. I don't know many times I hear my mom and her friends saying how much they would love to just go somewhere and relax for a few days without having to worry about anything at home. I'll bet young mom's feel the same way. Spas and pools sound good too. I also think the library sounds good, I often hear of people who don't have enough time to sit relax and read. I really can't think of anything to add!

2) Now this is definetly needed! I babysit for many young Muslim Moms and I feel so happy when they can just relax and go out with friends or get some extra sleep without having to worry about their kids. :) I know of one Muslim mom in particular who is very young with young kids and I feel bad when I hear her talk about how much she would love to get a better education but she can't because of her kids. She's not single but a few others are. If anyone ever starts a place like that I would be more than happy to babysit there.   :)

Why would you sound weird for wanting Muslim moms and women to feel better and further their eduucation? I think you sound very considerate.

Sis azizah,

Both are great ideas if Muslim Sisters and Brothers (I am adding brothers because I believe and know that there are some very compassionate ones among our Umma who would not take your ideas as weird) can develop the WILL to do so.

Where there is a will, there is a way.  I hope now that the idea has been thought, the a formulation plan will be next.  Nothing is impossible through a collective will.

You are compassionate, Sis.

Halima
