My husband was given this flier at the local masjid. I know the book exists haven't seen the alleged picture and frankly if it does exist, don't want to (dunno could someone verify it??). It appears someone else who can't write is trying to gain recognition by causing us hurt...
Seems to be quite the vogue. Can't write, can't rule or am sooo stupid need supervision whilst eating..... never mind attack Islam and the public will buy it/not mind they're ruled by a meglomaniac idiot who wasn't actually elected by them in the first place.

=========================================

In a book called 'The History of Punishment' by Lewis Lyons, Amber Books has published a picture depicting the prophet (saw) surrounded by naked women. This is clearly blasphemous and we fail to see why such an outrageous picture should be published in a chapter discussing Islamic law when there is absoloutely no connection between the two.

Amber books has demontstrated extreme insensitivity by publishing such a picture since the Islmaic point-of-view has been clarified before on many occasions. Especially after the Daily Mail published a pitcure portraying the Prophet (saw) earlier in the year. It can only  be concluded that the intention is to upset Muslims.

Course of Action
Please complain to the publishers, making the following points:
[*]To muslims it is very impoirtant never to make any pictorial representation of the prophet (saw). The publication of the illustration on page 36 of 'The History of punishment' by Lewis Lyons is therefore very upsetting to Muslims[*]This illustration is particularly offensive because it shows the Prophet (saw) surrounded by naked women. This nudity is also especially hurtfull as Islam teaches that women should dress modestly.[*]This image should therefore be removed from the publication immediately. Please could you inform me of your actions on this matter?

i got an e-mail about this through MPAC..if you go to their website u shud find an article and the apparent pic (i skipped over this part so haven't seen it but it does tell u what is in the pic) - i've forgotten the website for MPAC (mpac.org)? Sr Aafreen will be able to direct you inshaAllah or just do a search

Anyway i did send an e-mail to them and I got this automated reply (they must ahve got loads of e-mails to have an automated reply sent out)

"Amber Books Ltd sincerely apologises for any offence that has been caused by the inclusion of a pictorial representation of the Prophet Muhammad on page 36 in the book entitled 'The History of Punishment'. Amber Books are currently discussing this issue with the Muslim Council of Britain who are advising Amber Books on the best course of action."
