| Eid mubarak from Dubai!!! = as-salaam aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, How is everyone doing? This is Ameera here right now in Dubai for vacation!!! I cannot remember my username/password combo so have to do an anonymous one... :P ahh well... I have been busy busy busy since I met my fiancee's family. His sisters have been taking me shopping for Eid clothes and although I hate to wear dresses, I found a galabiya to wear that I love. Tonight they are taking me to buy house galabiyas (ikhhh, I would rather not wear them, but all the women in the house do so... ). It really doesn't feel like a foreign country from the U.S. only there are lots of masjids everywhere and many many more people in Islamic clothes. There are so so many foreigners here though and they do not whatsoever change their dress that would be respectful for Muslims. They are dresses all out in their tight, short, low-cut clothing and there are so many of them doing it. You can also see the local girls are wearing the same stuff only with an abaya over it... but the abayas you can see through from time to time... but its not everyone. I do love it here so far and his family has been so nice to me. I am very nervous because I will be meeting so many more people during Eid. I hope Eid is a wonderful time for everyone and I will keep you all updated, ok? Ameera |
