I have two Muslim friends that are coming back into the deen...and are interested in good books to kinda get them on track. Any suggestions? I need heart stopping books that make someone want to be the Best Muslims ever Inshaallah:)

Jazakumu Allahu Khayran, :-)

Salvation through Repentence, by Bilal Phillips.  Greatly encourages one to make tauba.

A really affordable book is the one by Sheikh Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjid: I Would Like to Repent But!!

www.islamicbookstore.com has it, and its online here:

I didn't know about that book by Dr. Bilal, I just placed a large order for some books, had I known about it I would have thrown that in as well.

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

'beauty of the righteous & ranks of the elite' by al-Asfahani, translated by al-Akili, published by Pearl Publishing House is a really beautiful, heart-moving and penetrating book :)

What is more heart stopping than the Qur'aan?
And what better motivation to become the best of Muslims than the Seerah of the Prophet  [saw] and the Companions.
Martin Lings is good, also Abdul Wahid Hamid.

And after that 'Don't be Sad' by 'Aaidh Abdullah ibn Qarnee...just recently translated into english.

I think it's a given when people ask for books it means "besides the Quran"... it doesn't even compare with regular "books" so it's really a different category..

How bout some tape sets ?? There are some great one's out there at different people's levels... anwar al awlaki, suhaib webb..  and somehow just putting tapes in the car is alot easier than taking out a big 'ole book and trying to read it...
