[slm] warahmatullah My dear Madinah Family, After being harassed and hounded by a member of the board whom I shall not mention.. suffice to say, this tough guy uses oil of olay and has a passion for changing diapers and grape jelly sandwiches.... So.. here goes...  :) [color=blue] Things happen when you least expect it... and as for me, the past couple of months have been very eventful, mashaAllah. The day when I will complete half of my deen will come soon. In exactly 4 weeks time, inshaAlllah. I have been gone for a long while.. not just a few weeks, Sofia... but I think I haven't been posting much since the retreat.. adjusting to what transpired @ the Adirondacks... to the news of the proposal, then engagement, then Ramadan & wedding preparations.. its just 1 big thing after the other, mashaAllah. Selamat bertunang & early Selamat Pengantin Baru (am I suppose to say some other things  ??? ) The plan was for you to attend my reception and hold one of my husband's hantaran for me (hantaran - exchange of gifts between bride and groom). I am very glad and happy that the reason that plan wont work out is because you'rer becoming a bride yourself! There will be a huge vacuum in this country once you leave and the seat beside me on Friday lunches will be empty, a reminder that you are thousands of miles away.  Silence at the table will indicate that your voice will now come from a small piece attached to a telecommunication contraption, unaccompanied by the way your eyes crinkled with laughter. U sure you got the right person? I'm only a board member since Feb 2001. 'Ala kulli hal, I did remember I asked for a du'a from someone going fo haj.. but I really couldn't remember if its this specific du'a. He's someone I met offline in real life, with the help of the people I mentioned above, alhamdulillah. A special note to Ummwafi... as I have shared to some sisters who are distanced by the wideness of this world, yet very close to my heart... the relationship of the arwah/ ruh knows no boundaries nor can it be seperated by vast distances. You will always be in my du'a and in my heart. And your wise words and many naseehah that you have given me all these while will be a part of what I shall remember you of and passed on to others, inshaALlah :) So...
