slammmmmm, hope every1 is well. the thing that has been bugging me for ages and i have been arguing with my fiends is that about girls shaving. in other sites it says that girls are allowed to SHAVE any excess hair. the thing that i dont understand is that SHAVE - is that shaving using blades razors etc. or is that shaving using cream, wax, etc. wat does it mean by saying you are allowed to and using wat form to SHAVE???? is it allowed dto shave using razors/blades? i heard that yes muslim girls are allowed to shave using razors etc. but then i also heard that no it ios forbidden in ISLAM for a girl to use any metal agiast her skin. which is true???? plz i wold be really grateful if some1 cud reply bak with knowledge on this topic, as it gives an indictaion of wat things we are doing wrong. you will get a reward indeed f rom ALLAH. thank you. Salam, ur allowed to remove excess hair anywhere.. except plucking the eyebrows and of course shaving your head (for women)... havent' heard anything about "metal against the skin"... really wonder where u got that from? and umm if it's allowed does it matter if it's with a razor or with lotion or waxing (all temporary methods)?? the only thing i can think of that is iffy is laser removal because it is permanent... WEIRD ASIDE: anyone watch that show Extreme Makeover.. where they take a candidate who has physicalish problems and turn them into a "model" through cosmetic surgery, liposuction and makeovers... wow those poor people.. i can see fixing deformities.. like this poor girl always had a split lip.. but like some of the people seemed pretty average looking and through some scary looking surgery (and yes they show stuff) they're "better looking" people!... |

[slm] Not really relating to Anon's posting, more of an addition to Jannah's WEIRD trivia. MISS UGLY starts plastic surgery Hong Kong: The winner of Miss Ugly contest in Shanghai staged a week before China hosts Miss World has begun an extensive course of plastic surgery, a news report said yesterday. Translator Zhang di, 26, beat 50 competitors to the prize of 100,000 yuan (USD12,100) worth of treatment , after being named the woman who would most benefit from plastic surgery. She will spend the next three weeks undergoing operations to make her more beautiful, the South China Morning Pkst said. |

[slm] Shakira, does this work, how many treatments have you had and is the hair stopping? The price has really dropped for these treatments now and it was something I was thinking about. [wlm] Ayla_A |

[wlm] you'll have to get a fatwa on it.... just like plastic surgery stuff if it's abnormal and ur fixing something or just trying to improve looks etc... |

[slm] sistas :) Jezakhallah Kheir Sis Jannah 8) Sis Ayla_A it has worked for me...i began treatment in March 2003 and i have had four treatments since then....lazer does not stop the hair growth completely ...it retards the growth..... My chin hairs were really thick and stubborn to remove and now they have thinned out and their outgrowth is less.... I would recommend it to anybody provided its permissible to use on our bodies ;) [wlm] Shakira |

[slm] i also noticed a difference. id recommend it to all... i had 5 of 6 treatments done, each with a monthly interval and its improved evrything. altho to make it closer to permanent i'd need to have 6 more and following that hav a "top up" treatment once a yr... but still... anythings worth getting rid of hair ;) ;D |

[slm] Hmmm I'm getting it done at the mo'...only had two treatments so far so not seen any real difference yet...how many treatments does it take to get rid of it??? and if at the end of it you still have to resort to other methods is there any point??? ps i think the coarser and thicker the hair, the better it works, not found really useful as of yet on lighter hair [wlm] |
