[slm] Has anyone read this book? Its written by Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri. Is it good/worth reading? Would appreciate if anyone could recommend a good book on the biography of the Noble Prophet [saw]. Thanks Salaams SisNur :-) |

[slm] I'm reading it at the moment... Are you going to be reading the english translation?? I ask because I feel a lot is lost in the translation, I was going to pass it on to a non-mulsim friend but think perhaps I should hold fire. It's very informative historically and relatively easy to read but I keep forgetting the names of the different tribes so have to go back and remind myself... These are all my own opinions. [slm] We are using it in our Woman's class at the dawah center. I recommend it for those who want heavy detailed facts. Not as an easy ready. Make sure you get the revised issue... much easier reading! |

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah, ar-Raheeq is considered to be the most authentic biography of the prophet Muhammad [saw] I believe. It is definitely an excellent book to have in your library, especially for reference, though I think there are other books on seerah that are written in a more clear and fluid style. wasalaam :-) |

[slm] i have here the printed revised edition, & it contains 588 pages with publishers note, list of contents and index. the link of on-line version i have would probably contain the "unrevised" edition it should still be complete. If it were abridged, the link would say so, but it does not contain the arabic, which the printed version does. & here is DarusSalam's address etc., for those of you who can get books from Pakistan, they are also printed & available in Pakistan, i think at cheaper prices, & the paper & quality is good: ---------- Houston P.
