I thoguht this was very interesting
Rector of the Great Mosque of Paris, Dalil Boubakeur, said he would call on Muslims to respect any law, but he would ask for a grace period of several months "so that everyone can take stock of the fact that things have changed".

Moise Cohen, president of the Consistoire of Paris, which directs religious Jewish life, said he opposed a headscarf law because it could be viewed by Muslims as a discriminatory measure and could "exacerbate emotions".
Why is the Muslim (I assume they mean) Imam, so lassez faire about the issue. I wonder where exactly this is going to stop, will we be fighting for the right to cover our awra next??
Is it just me or does anyone else find this completely ridiculous. Women having to fight for the right to cover themselves, whereas walking around showing the world everything you do and don't have doesn't warrant a raised eye, but the second you want to cover they get hysterical. It's our right I'm fed up with being opressed in this manner!!!

[slm] may Allah guide us & our imaams to the right path. It is not ridiculous, it is infuriating to impose such a ban.
