Does anyone respond to alerts?

Aa does anyone respond to alerts concerning the Muslim community here? Only a couple of people Bro hanif and solitude seem to have shown any interest......
????
I'd just like to know if people think it is worth it to complain, and if they do complain what kind to alerts they are most motivated by? Also why dont more people attend pickets and protests, yet flock to nasheed concerts?
thanks aaf

Salaams,

Sis please dont just say its just me and Solitude there are others as well who respond to alerts but perhaps they are working in a different way. For example, there are people who pray tahjjud at night and haven't missed it for years on end and make mad dua for the Ummah.

So it makes it a little different, everyone is working in their own way and that I think is good to an extent. My methodology is you do what is best for yourself and invite to others. If they are people of understanding and reason then they will either support your cause or at least agree with what you are doing. I know it feels a lot of times that nothing happens, day in day out and it seems frustrating yet we shouldn't think like this  for a quick win.

We have to think long and hard about what we are doing? What is our vision and how can we get there. If we think that we are going to free Palestine/Iraq end the oppression world wide, George Bush to become a Muslim then we've got to realise that it won't happen by the fall of Magrib tonight.

But maybe just maybe if we teach others and our kids the correct way of thinking, talking and acting then one day we will see that our goal has been achieved. It takes time and dedication, for some the best activity they can do is perhaps just read your email, others will make dua and some may even respond to your alert.

Who would have thought that 5 years from now going back you'd be a mom of a happy little monster(baby) or who would have thought that MPAC or whatever organiastion would get so far???. I certainly did not think I would get this far in what I'm doing, I've made sukhar to Allah and I'm hungry to work hard till I die, regardless of who's with me or not.

Salaams

aa 15 people read this only you replied, i wasnt asking about reading namaz i was asking about being active in other ways in my experience very few people are, MPAC has a e-group of 30,000 people only 500 are active at the very most, actually thats perhaps too optimistic, look at this message board more people read about the nasheed concert then about the prophet (pbuh) being insulted...can you blame me for being cynical?

aafreen this isn't the forum for mpac alerts... we've been very lax in allowing them, but there is a rule in the constitution for not posting organization newsletters/emails/alerts on a consistent basis... because we don't want organizations/websites posting all their things there. it's better if people are interested in your news/alerts to bring them into your organization and communicate with them there. maybe you can make an email list for people who are interested in responding to alerts and stuff like organizations like CAIR do so you can have an active group that does that sort of stuff.

An alert here and there is fine... as I said what we should avoid is "on a consistent basis".... kinda doesn't make much sense when people can just join the e-list...

I respond to alerts, I prefer to email or write or phone. I have been doing so in response to your alerts, please dont leave or stop posting Sr. Afreen I like to know of ways I can help make a difference.
I don't go to pickets and marches because I have to take care of my baby, but I do pass the info onto people who I know will attend.

BTW I wouldn't get too upset at the reading or response rate, remember we've got a limited number of posts per week, so just because people don't reply to your thread doesn't mean they aren't helping out. Also this thread isn't as much read as some others....

Wassalaam
PS I got a reply from the BBC trying to justify there 'documentary' the terror tourists, they seem to think they were trying to work out what motivated people to pay thousands of dollars to carry out a glorified PE excersise (my words not theirs). And this is what the documentary was about....

i agree with BroHanif & sister Fozia above. we may not respond, & for some  the physical effort may not be possible, but it helps. i get the word from here & post on other forums where a discussion gets gowing. Sometimes it works out positively. i posted one of your alerts on another forum. & i posted the info about Hijab ban in a private school & then a public school, & some of them wrote emails to the concerned authorities, as did many others, & the ban was lifted.

& the fact that so many read these alerts does not mean thet they have spare time & will read anything. They are interested in your alerts, so they read. If nothing else, they make dua for you & the problem.

So plz don't stop posting here, & don't take anything to heart.
