as'salaamualaikum ;D anyone know how to make these things? ??? i had some at my friends house last night . . . let's just say, i had to restrain myself from eating them ALL! :o those things were sssoooooo good, mashAllah. :) i know you guys share a lot of recipes here, and i just know someone has to have one for CREAM PUFFS. :-X so please share, inshAllah. :) |

[slm] For Ten large puffs I cup water ½ cup butter 1/4th tea spoon salt 1 cup sifted all purpose flour 4 eggs 1. Pre heat the oven to 450 F 2. Combine the water, butter and salt bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan and forms a ball around the spoon. If the ball does not form almost immediately hold the saucepan over low heat and beat briskly for a few seconds. Cool slightly 3. Add eggs one at a time beat until the mixture is smooth and glossy after each addition 4. Drop the mixture by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a greased backing sheet 5. Bake fifteen minutes .reduce the ovens temp to 350 F and bake till no bubbles of fat remain on the surface and the sides of the puff feel rigid (30 mins).Cool cut a cap off and fill with pastry cream then serve frosted and chilled There are many recipes for pastry cream just lazy to type them all so will give u one :P Pastry cream ½ cup sugar 3 ½ tablespoons of corn starch or 6 table spoons of flour 6 lightly beaten egg yolks 2 cups milk 1 teaspoon halal imitation vanilla 1. Mix sugar cornstarch egg yolks in a sauce pan. Scald the milk and pour it gradually over the egg yolk mixture, stirring rapidly with a wire whisk. 2. Cook over low heat or in the top of a double boiler, stirring rapidly with the whisk until the mixture is thick and smooth. Do not allow the pastry cream to boil cool and add the vanilla [wlm] |
