[slm] A friend I have known since the 7th grade has Leukemia. He just found out yesterday, and is in the hospital. Does anyone have information about it and treatment? I feel bad, he wanted to go see the Last Samurai opening weekend and I didn't go. |

[slm] May Allah ease his pain and suffering and give him complete shifa (Ameen). Leukemia is of several types, and treatment depends on the severity of the disease, age of the patient, how good is his immune system etc. There are lot of things to be considered before the doctors may proceed with treatment. Types of Leukemia include: 1. Acute Myelogenous leukemia (AML). 2. Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). 3. Chronic Myelocytic leukemia (CML). 4. Chronic Lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). How old is ur friend? and what type has he been diagnosed with? Wassalam. |

[slm] my nephew wasdiagnosed with leukemia. he had to undergo bone marrow transplant, & the operation was successful, but within the year he had to be readmitted, & he did not survive. He was only 22/23. from Allah we come, & to HIM we will all return. Then my colleague told me he also had a nephew with leukemia. but the parents took him for umrah, & prayed to Allah for his recovery when having the first sip of ZamZam. This one has recovered. I have heard many stories of the miraculous nature of ZamZam. when your friend is well enough to travel, ask his parents to go there with him. ask any one doing umrah to make that prayer. may Allah give him complete shifa from his ailments. aameen |

[slm] He's pretty young, the Leukemia is not genetic, it affects a certain gene, and he's going to be given some medication for that, that has had good results. He's also going to need a bone marrow surgery, so they were looking for possible matching donors in his family. Zamzam water, hmmm, that sounds good, he isn't a Muslim though. i think its called CML, the Leukemia |

[slm] Months ago I stumbled upon this website looking for something related to computer programming stuff. This is a personal experience of someone having CML. http://voisen.org/archives/cat_leukemia.php start from the bottom and read upward. [i]"It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." - Sir Edmond Hillary ... They told it to me like this: "We think you might have leukemia." That was almost a month ago now. October 18, 2002. It takes a while for those words to really sink in, a long while. It still hasn't quite hit me. I now know the details, but I will probably never quite solve the mystery. Somewhere in my system, somewhere in a location and at a time unknown. Somewhere. Somewhere something went wrong. It's called Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. That's the specific type. Most people call it CML. It doesn't sound so bad that way. If you call it cancer, then you will get varied response from varied people. Most people will shy away as if you were dying before their very eyes. I guess most people associate cancer with death. This is a sad reality. To avoid this, I call it CML. You see, if you call it CML then you get the same response from everyone: "What's that?" I like that same response. It's something I can deal with. "What's that?" they say. [/i] Wassalam. p.s : Sean if you see this, I hope you dont mind me pasting this here. I'm sure it will help a lot of people and esp Bhaloo to understand this from personal perspective. |
