Date Palm Tree Display

I had my Interfaith meeting the other night. If you recall, we were doing the story of Maryam and the birth of Eesa (as) at my house.

There on my coffee table sit the Date Palm Tree display that "you" all got for me. (I know it was you, it just has to be the Madinats')

When having these discussions it is often difficult to add the Muslim's teachings, because it seems so foreign to the group. I always get it in, but I can tell that they are hearing me, but not listening.

It was different tonight.

I patiently waited until all the different groups related their tales. (Ok, not so patiently...but only you know that now!)

Then I asked them if I could tell them the story about how got my coffee table display. I began telling them my thooughts of the last meeting, (please read the thread about that...couldn't find it)

When I told them about the next day, with the postman at my door, they were amazed and shocked!

I then had their complete attention and spoke about Eesa's (as) birth and Maryam at the palm tree. From an Islamic viewpoint we discussed Maryam and Eesa for a long time. The meeting went on for more than an hour over the end time.

Although, they heard the story, I think that the story of your generosity and thoughtfulness, and annonymity touched them more. Infact I was taken aback by their tender reactions.

Of course, then I put them over the top and told them about the projector.... and possible laptop...
more about that later...

Subhanna Allah... this is the third group so far that the display has given me segway to speak about Islam..

May Allah swt reward you all...
