I was wondering if Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall's translation of the Holy Qur'aan is a good one? Which translations would u recommend and which ones should be avoided?

They all have some problem.  But here is a list of all of them and the various issues with each:

as salaamu alaykum,

here is a link to an older thread discussing Qur'an translations you may want to check out:

have you guys heard of this 'poetic' translation of the Qur'an that came out fairly recently?  what do y'all think?

wasalaamu alaykum :)

as-salaamu alaikum

I found a link somewhere on the web to a new translation that Yahya Emerick is working on. I think he and his team have translated half of it and a portion of the translation is available online. It might be the one that Se7en is referring to.

Unfortunately, i can't find the link.
