| Assalamu Alaikum Attended a 'bayaan' tonight, was at a masjid 45 minutes drive from my place. There were around 4000 ppl attending it including brothers from china and africa with interpreters. And the topic... Allahu Akbar, seemed that its designed specifically for me! "How to kill your ego" "We as Muslims should be down to earth, should not try to exploit mistakes of our brethren and should be first to say sorry without making it an ego issue. Our conflicts make devil and our enemies stronger and ummah get week..." I began to think... i've come into existence with few drops of water, my end will be in dirt six feet under the earth and while i live i carry urine and filth in my tummy. How can i be rude to my brethren! How can i use harsh words for them. I felt so low and that really made me feel embarrassed and ashamed on my dogmatic and opinionated attitude towards few ppl on here in [url=http://www.jannah.org/cgi-bin/madina/YaBB.pl?board=bebzi;action=display;num=1070147106]wedding planz[/url] and [url=http://www.jannah.org/cgi-bin/madina/YaBB.pl?board=bebzi;action=display;num=1072442789]jaihoon's new book[/url] threads. Believe me, i felt so low and thought that before the meaness of this world start corrupting me again, i better say sorry to ppl who i offended. Besides, who knows how long one is to live! Then there was this thought of IMing ppl to say sorry but then it wouldn't have killed my ego! So, my sincere apologies to you all... sis sofia, i'm sorry for my rude attitude sis jannah, i ask for forgiveness from u 2 sis 7, i'm extremely sorry for being mean and not taking off my post when you took off yours and hence exploited your mistake (well yours wasn't a mistake anyways) and last but not the least bro jaihoon, yaar i can't believe i was this rude to you and took your happiness away like a mean moron.. please forgive me bro... | [slm] yea so, ive been lurking around all those mentioned threads, and all the heat in it was kinda happening for a bystander...i must admit :P but ill just say that this initiative was very kind and thoughtful by Br Nomi, i pray that all of us can benefit from lectures like these. Ameen. ive never attended one on killing yr ego, but i think i need to too, sigh. InshAllah. |
