| [slm] sister des = one's place of origin, country, land = ديس urdu as well as hindi word in bangla bhasha (bengali language) it would be pronounced as ديش sorry, i do not know the bengali alphabet, but i guess you don't know either :) & desi = local, indigenous, applies to people as well as goods as well as ideas = ديسي because we are fond of foreign people, goods, ideas; and we think they are superior; desi ( ديسي ) also sometimes implies sub-standard |
