| [slm] help needed from jannah, or bhaloo, or anyone who has studied or taught islamic sciences in a Halaqa. i have agreed to join an on-line Halaqa, when i have not even seen one in real-life. (studied on my own, at my pace, & well sort of wandered through, & none the better for it :( point is i am supposed to decide something soon, & be a teacher of one subject. so i have to select one subject, one book on-line for that subject, give a syllabus, have sharah (explanation) of that book, (again on-line), etc. plus set papers as well, fortnightly, in small doses. This is what the co-ordinator has said: **tafsir(who ever takes this up will they kindly stick to either mukhtassar tafsir ibn kathir or safwat altafaasir?) **hadith (if riyad alsalihin is online then OK otherwise the better option is sharh arbaeen hadith nawawi=the explanation of the 40 nawawi hadiths **sirah (history of the prophet) "the sealed nectar" folks-and whoever wants to take it up there are two superb books by sheikh alghazali and sheikh albouti called comrehensive understanding of the sirah(fikh alsirrah) it will make our study of sirrah far more productive. **"companions of the prophet" -- **raqaaik: softening of the heart-which should include a monthly/weekly duty as well as memorising some ayahs per month==who will be our mentor? **aqueeda=belief HELLLLLLLLLLLLLP please. i know nothing about this at all. can anyone guide me. Fiqh: i have decided against, fortunately another person has been selected for it. Hadith: i found tafsir ibne katheer online at tafsir.com, but the site has just been put out of action for non-payment of dues, i think. so, tafsir is out for me. i did find the Riadus Swaliheen, Hadith-e Qudsi & Forty AHadith on-line, but sharah-e arbaeen-e-nawawi, where is it on-line? anyone know companions: the book i found is: http://www.witness-pioneer.org/vil/Articles/companion/default.htm aqeedah: = again aqeeda-e Tahawiayya was on the quraan.com site, & has disappeared with that site. where else can i find it with its explanations. now i find this link to ibne Taimiyya's work: http://www.wponline.org/vil/Books/IT_pif/default.htm also the al-aqaaid by Hasan al Banna http://www.wponline.org/vil/Books/HB_Aqaaid/Default.htm ==== so please tell me where i can find on-line sharah-e-arbaeen-e-nawawi or should i go for riad-us-Swaliheen or should i select aqeedah or the companions of the prophet? & what to select a subject which isn't too difficult to handle. If it is aqeedah, which book do you think i should select, & how do i go about setting a syllabus? |

| [slm] Teaching Seerahnd fiqh is very interesting, teach as well learn interesting things everyday. i think fiqh is good, i teach it, but you get alot of people asking questions. :-X goodluck. |

| wlm, Is this on Paltalk btw? One of my in-laws-relatives is reallllllllly into the live weekly halaqas and stuff that go on there and is actually teaching something there too. I think 40 hadith is cool you can always find some stuff on those hadith because they are so well-known. I think there's another book called Lessons from the 40 Hadith which u can use as well. Anyways, May Allah reward you inshaAllah :) |

| [slm] thanks sis matheera: fiqh: i m terrified of it. well someone has been chosen for that one. jannah, no it is not Paltalk, & it isn't exactly on-line. just we will post material on 6-7 topics in a discussion board, & digest it over for one or two weeks, & then there will be tests. & thanks bother humble muslim. it is an attractive site you mentioned, but i can't get the tafsir at all, while the quran is displayed one ayah at a time & takes a long time to load. i preferred the "qaraan.com" & "tafsir.com" sites. Hopefully, they will be up again. | AA The site you mentioned is Yusuf Ali's commentray, which is not considered that authentic. If you go to quran.nu on IE, then type in the Surah number, the tranlsation comes up. On the top right corner is a link to Tafsir. Let me know if it still does not work. |

Let me know if it still does not work.[/quote] thanks brother. i still do not get the tafsir link anywhere. & i would still like to have www.Quran.com and www.tafsir.com they are faster, & one can read much more than an ayah on one page. can any one give links to English translations of: fikh alsirrah by Sheikh albouti and fikh alsirrah by sheikh Mohamed ghazali |

| AA Bro. Timbuktu, I just went on and it works for me. Do the following : 1. Go to quran.nu 2. Select a surah from the drop down list : don't click on anything else. 3. The surah arabic and translation comes up, with a link in the top right hand corner of the frame saying "Tafsir". Click on the link. This is with IE6. If it still doesn't work, maybe time to upgrdae yopur version of IE. |

Then go for questions that arise, and try to stick to scholars' words - that is what we want to do here. The Halaqa members can read up the material in advance on-line even if they do not have a copy. tafsir ibne katheer with different authors ??? are you sure? when we say tafsir ibne katheer, i thought it meant the tafsir of Quran by ibne katheer. How can it have many authors. perhaps it can have more than one translator. Is that what you mean? i have no idea of the translator. i saw this one on the tafsir.com site linked to the quraan.com one, and i liked it. It did not say who has translated it. |

| Dont be Alamrmed brother, i had the same impression when i was told to buy tafseer ibn e katheer at firs when i was studying, tafseer ibn e katheer if you go to saudi or pakistaan...ect thier ar many writers to it, but they all different. like i got the author Muhammed An'naba'ah. his tafseer is much more in detail that some other, Well anyway, as you are following more to what the ulama are saying and online copy and paste, you wont need trouble with finding a book store, yeah proberbly with islamic sites. you may fing good stuff at http://www.daruliftaa.org/ There is two site, old and new ;) |
