| Assalamu alaikum My contact with Muslim sisters is limited. I am at home and the net is one of my main resources. Is Jannah.org the best place to chat and get to know sisters? I am involved in a writing community at writing.com. I do a lot of Islamic work on that site, but there are few active muslim members...so for me who is on there everyday it becomes very lonely. I realise I am spending far too much time online with non-muslims, I want to rectify that. It would be nice to have more Muslim sisters on writing.com and similar sites, because whilst sharing a hobby/interest we are able to socialise, and work together. I have also tried to go back to soundvision but it seems there message boards are closed. To me this place seems very quiet. Are there a lot of sisters on daily? Or is there other websites that are better suited to getting to know other sisters. It is great to learn and socialise at the same time. your sister in islam |

| [wlm] Hello sister Welcome to Jannah.org. I am a newbie here, but have enjoyed visiting for quite some time. From what I've seen this is a great board, but the akwat cafe can be kind of quiet sometimes. I've found a lot of great sisters in my area, but it is hard to make times for visits etc. Mostly I see them at the Friday prayer and at various events like wedding parties, eid gatherings etc. It is especially important for me to make it to the Jummah prayer at least a couple times a month to keep me close to the community. Unfortunately, I know this is not possible for all sisters. No company can replace that of another sister so please feel free to IM me if you ever want to chat. Your sis :-) |

| [slm] Welcome to the Akwhat section. Yes sometimes we are quiet, other times there will be a hundred posts in a three day time period. From what I have seen, it looks like alot of sisters come here and read the posts. So many just don't have the time to post a reply. or like in my case, if I agree with another poster on a particualr subject, I rarely post my reply...just to save my limited time! There have been posts that appear like no one is reading, but then I will get Im's of comments. Generally many do not read, post until the weekend. Sometimes a thread will be reactivated and then take off after an intial post. Seems like many do not want to be the first person to make a comment. So please join us, add some new seasonings to our conversations. Spice us up! Sometimes i think of this as being an old ladies group.. been there discussed that... we need some young blood to vitalize us! |

| [slm] sister, glad to hear that you wish to spend more time with sisters! :) I just wanna welcome you here, and do post any interesting things in this cafe....so far, the cafe mostly consist of talks of marriage, and hijab, but if you have any topic at all relating to mostly sisters, do post, and hopefully, we'll liven things up and post our thoughts on it... :) Peace :-) |
