These two really speak to my heart. Was wondering if anyone would like to add to what they mean? Discuss them? Share which ones speak to you? "If your good deeds please you and your bad deeds upset you, then you are a mu’min (believer)." [Hadith] Protect "the head and what does through it (thoughts and ideas)." [Hadith] |

Well sister Aziza the first hadith what you have mentioned is very well known and is a kind of self analysis tool for every MOMIN. As you must know momin in Islamic terminology is a muslim with high level of faith or Iman. As you said it's a simple and short hadith but it's really very deep in it's meaning and wisdom. What this hadith mean to me is that apart from what we learn or listen through Quran and Sunnah there is another barometer inside us and it does tell us when we do something wrong and it also tells us when we do something good. And it's quite possible it looks the opposite outwardly or other people take it differently. For instance you are listening to music or watching t.v. or chatting with someone on net or walking along the beach where people are lying around you almost naked. All those actions can be categorized as HALAL or HARAM and we can find references from Quran and Sunnah to prove them so. But if you are momin as soon as you do something you WILL get to know either it was bad or good and you WILL feel accordingly also. |
