Umm Ayman was the nursemaid of the Prophet  [saw]

Uthman ibn al-Qasim said that when Umm Ayman migrated she was held back at a place called al-Munsarif. She became extremely thirsty as she was fasting, and it was very difficult for her. It is said that a bucket of water
descended from heaven with a white feather on it. She drank from this
bucket, and from then onwards, whenever she fasted, no matter how hot
it became, she wouldn't become thirsty.

Sufyan ibn Uqba said that he heard the Prophet say that whoever wanted
to marry a woman from the Garden of Paradise should marry Umm Ayman.

Muhammad ibn Qays relates that once Umm Ayman went to the Prophet and she asked for a camel. The Prophet replied, 'I will put you on the
off-spring of a she-camel'. She said that the off-spring would not be able to support  her so she did not want it. But the Prophet insisted, 'I will only mount you on the off-spring of a she-camel'. The Prophet was joking with her, because all camels, are the off-spring of she camels, some happen to be new born babycamels and some are full grown camels :)

Muhammad ibn Umar al-Waqadi said that Umm Ayman was at the battle of
Uhud, she was carrying water and was treating the injured. She was also at the battle of Khaybar with the Prophet.

When the Prophet died, Umm Ayman began to cry. Someone asked her why she was crying and she replied that she knew the Prophet would die one day, but now there would ne no more revelations from heaven.

Umm Ayman died when Caliph Uthman took rule.

Usually when people picture the Prophet Muhammad, upon whom be peace, they think of a somewhat strict fellow. This certainly wasn't the case. Yes at times he had to be serious yet other times he wasn't. He used to play with his nephews cousins etc but also, he would sometimes tell jokes. The incident above is typical of a man of good humour. This is the balance we should all seek in life, there is time for everything.
