What a day

This is kind of just venting so in advance I'll ask you all to forgive me.
I mean with world hunger, homeless and war, how dare I complain hey?
But I have had one heck of a day and now I am relaxing with hot tea and fussing here on jannah.org   :(  I have been ill with the flu going on my 8th day and feeling so tired of being sick. Hubby is gone so I am running the show alone.  So I know just that alone has me at witts end.

I adopted (just before hubby left) a dog who seemed nice during some pre-adoption visits. I have SUCKER written on my forehead when it comes to displaced critters.
Well it attacked one of my dogs unprovoked    :o  (a couple days ago)
It was a really tough decision. I fought with for 2 days but wondered if this could of been prevented. No, it was unprovoked so I today signed and completed it's death sentence   :'(

I had no choice and if it went to another home, the next time could be a small child. The animal could no longer be trusted    :(  I couldn't take the chance. I had a moral and legal responsability.  Not that I had to legally,  distroy it, but it had to be done,  I knew it was dangerous.
To help matters I remind myself that things don't happen by chance and there is always a reason. Maybe my adopting it was the journey it needed to prevent another family from adopting it and a child being hurt or even killed. It was an 80 to 85 lbs rottie.  The attack was no quick bite either, it was a locked jaw and wouldn't let go as I screamed, yelled and pulled at it and tugged at it for what seemed like forever to distract it. (even though I'm sure it was just seconds.  I guess I'm lucky being alone with hubby not home it didn't turn on me and grab on to  me.

None the less, it feels awful signing an animals death sentence.   :'(
The injured dog had to go to the vet today to the tune of $144. cause my doctoring only barely held the infection at bay and the wound was getting worse.

To top it off 2 pups I had been expecting to fly in from the east coast for the last 6 weeks (since they were born) well I came home to an email saying a virus went through their kennel and killed 3 out of 6 pups in the litter and 2 were ones to be mine.

But I made it through the day (even though I had an animal killed)
and there was a blessing at the end of the day that seemed to heal all things of the day. I had the most interesting conversation tonight with someone about Islam and I went away feeling much better. After all, God gave me the strength to pull through the day and sent someone to get my mind off the whole matter and focus on him (God)  not things that are done and dealt with. I'm sure being sick is just making things seem worse than they are. But I'm no superwoman and all I feel like doing right now is
:'(    :'(    :'(

Its my 3rd day with flu.

Duas will be highly appreciated.

Interesting when you get ill you wanna get out of it as quick as you can. On the other hand they tell you that illness is sometimes a blessing of Allah to undo your sin. Allahu Alim

Oh and a good way to heal is... "dont think much about it (illness)"

My du'as are with you both, I had the flu last month - during my exams no less - so you guys make sure you keep your germs to yourself :P  ;)

Here's a tip for the flu - it'll help settle your stomach as well if your feeling nauseous.  Just juice a small amount of ginger and drink it - the best way to do this is to make a nice drink of warm water, honey, lemon and the ginger juice.

Salam

Sorry to hear you had such a bad day. Hope you are feeling better. I can understand you being upset about the animal, but you are right. It was the best decision inshallah.

Hope your flu gets better soon, and know that you did what you did with the best of intentions.

your sister in islam
