Question for the Bro.'s

As-salaam aleikum .
I have a question for all you married brothers out there. If your wife had a non-muslim friend and she invited her (and you) to a party that was mixed with men and women, would you BOTH go? If yes why and if not why not.

Sis. Emerald :-)

[slm] my wife wears the Pakistani/ Indian Hijab (dupatta etc.) most of the time, not always.

and both of us work in mixed environment.

so, unless i had prior engagement, i would go. can't refuse if she has done the inviting. in fact, despite being told the contrary, my son's engagement turned out to be a mixed affair, and i could not say anything.

i am sorry, that my household is not a very good example of the deeni household, although my wife does say the salah regularly, and fasts, and occassionally reads the Quran.

The fault is mine that i asked her to go and develop her professional skills in a hospital, and i brought in a TV, VCR, etc, and i did not maintain an Islamic household from the beginning.

The above is the most honest response I ever read on this board!!!

How about this one?

I wont go. I have at least three reasons and u ppl know them already.

ok bro hyper, lets fight, for a change!

[slm]  ;-)

ps: What if i take her shopping and buy her 4-5 dresess of her choice instead? How about a dinner at the most delicious or as a woman would like, at the most expensive restaurant/food-place? That'll be good, yeah?

[slm]

ps: if you are the opposing group yet again, only then i'll post about it. Been under the heat since long, i'll break like this.

Well I am really surprised that brothers and sisters on the board don't know the reasons what brother Nomi is talking about who is celebrity on the board. No problem let me help those uninformed brothers and sisters. The reasons are as follows:

   1) There is no reasonable reason so men have right to be unreasonable with
       their reasonable wives

   2) Men are not supposed to give any reason to their wives regarding their
       decisions

   3) How a NON-MUSLIM dared to invite a muslim woman without prior consent of
her husband at first place ?

I think there is long list of reasons but upper mentioned ones might be enough as a basic guide line.

Ps: It was just a joke if anyone was unable to understand

The first and most important reason is that Nomi isn't married yet, so his wife cannot invite anyone, muslim or non-muslim.

Actually i would love it if she "invites" her non-Muslim friends over. Then the rules will be "ours", environment provided will be "ours" and the one compromising will not be "us". Infact nobody will be compromising, not us not them.

And its none of anybody's business as to how she and moi will settle stuff in either going for shopping instead or having a dinner "instead" ;D

Sarcasm not being used as part of the escape plan here :). Just giving heated arguments some rest []

ps: Scholars around me say... "apnay mahool ko ghalib kero"

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

[quote]i am sorry, that my household is not a very good example of the deeni household... [/quote]

bro timbuktu, your household is more 'deeni' than many others!  please don't underestimate yourself or your family's efforts.. all of us are struggling in this journey, and any house in which people perform the salah regularly is certainly a good one :)

may Allah make all of our houses beautified and blessed by practice of the deen, ameen.

wasalaamu alaykum,
