| [slm] Got this via email..for any interested see below. -ws ---- Sunday, February 29th, 2004 Time 12:00 AM - 8:30 PM Presenters To Present at ISNA Convention-Deadline Feb 29 2004 Description I am pleased to inform you that ISNA for the 41st annual convention scheduled for Labor day weekend in Chicago, will for the FIRST time have a NEW format for presentation of abstracts during the convention. The idea is to provide a forum to showcase, present the variety of great initiatives which are in place within the Muslim community across USA. For example if you have some interesting, unique experience--fund raising,sunday school, interfaith, intrafaith, community development, political experience,Dawah initiative and want a forum to present and share it with the larger community, this would be an ideal format. Here's how to do it: 1)Think of the experience you have had as a Muslim in America. 2)Prepare a 500 word or less summary of it --Objective,Design,Material and methods,Results and Conclusion--for example members of ICLI have already sent abstract's titled--A)Allahs garden-how the landscaped garden of ICLI helped in outreach and Dawah,B)Making the Eid Stamp Stick--how one devoted member sold over 150,000 Eid stamps to make sure the stamp stays in circulation , others in the planning stage deal with --New Muslims--Challenges they face after taking Shahada, How To Create and Market Positive News about Muslims etc etc. Providing Dawa via services-health, social work, soup kitchens et. 3)This years ISNA convention theme is:ISLAM: Dialogue,Devotion,and Development with Q 22: 77 as the guidepost.
