Silk garments for women?

Assalamo alaikum, I am Simran from India and a Muslimah. I need advice with regard to the type of garments allowed for Salah. I make it a point to offer at least two rakats of prayer wearing my new clothes before I get to go out wearing them for the first time. I have a  new silk kurta and I wish to know if it is allowed for Muslim women to wear a silk attire for performing Salah. I don't wish to wear them for any occasion unless I have offered prayers wearing them. Jazak Allah Khair,

[slm] To the best of my knowledge women are allowed to wear silk. Men are not.
