question about mac's

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

I hope everyone is doing well, insha'Allah.

does anyone know why a website would not be visible for a Mac user?  As far as I know, the site is in simple HTML.  I am not sure why Mac users can't see the page :(

Jazakum Allahu khayran for any input/suggestions y'all can give me.

wasalaamu alaykum,

Did you try another browser? If you can't see it on mozilla/firbird, MS internet explorer, apple's safari, or opera,  then the web server might be deliberately refusing to satfisy requests from an apple (pun here). Which site is that btw?

I pretty much exclusively use Apple computers and have not had a problem with a site not being visible.
Lots of sites are not optimized for some of the Apple browsers such as Safari and even Mozilla. But generally this means only some of the more complicated code will not show up properly.

What OS (name, version) and browser (name, version) are you using? Did you try another browser? If you did, what other browsers did you try?

What I noticed is that the webpage is a direct export from MS word. MS has a lot of forced html extensions which might be giving your system a hard time. Try a simpler html editor, better yet, try coding html directly, its a simple webpage. If you are going to maintain a website, you got to know html.

as salaamu alaykum,

I tried it in ie 6.0 and netscape 7.1.  what's an OS?

i'm not a comp sci major, so forgive me if I don't use all the right words here -- but when I make a page I write straight up html in notepad, and then save it as a .html file.  (you can see a sample of my work, partially jacked from the elated.com website, here :P)

but I didn't make this particular page on the site, my bro did :)  do you think I should just re-write it in simple html?   would it then be visible for mac users?

jazak Allahu khayran :)

Looks clean and slick - impressive. Very nicely done. Looks a bit odd among all those other gloomy MSA pages though.

Some dude named faisal is the word document author. Yes, you can redo it in simple html on short notice. As far as mac users are concerned, I believe that most of them upgraded to OSX, which should have the kinks taken out. Maybe its time to say farewell to your trusted mac.
