Recently a friend from India got married in the UAE.The wedding was a simple segregated affair.However,when she went back to India for her valimah,the in-laws threw a lavish "mixed" reception for the couple. The bride seeing that it was a "mixed party" insisted on wearing her black abaya  with hijab(ofcourse)on top of her beautiful and very expensive dress. SubhanAllah she still stood out amongst a elite crowd of 700 guests.......elaborately dressed. :)
