The Jannah.org Experience

Salaams All,

As March 1, 2004 dawns for me here in Nairobi, it is two years since I have been a member on this board.  Alhamdu Lillah!

So, two years down the line here, what have I gained by being a member?

1. Learned a lot more about Islam despite the fact that I am a born Muslim.
2. Interacted with Brothers and Sisters across the globe both Muslims and Non-Muslims.
3. Learned that despite the distance, cultural differences and opinions, people can still care of each other.
4. Jannah.org has proved that Muslims can learn from each other and no one is better than the other.
5. That if you have an open mind, you can learn from anyone here, young and old.  That the old can also learn from the young.  Hence, learning is a two way street.

To list but a few.  For if I were to write down everything, I would not be able to stop.

Do I want to stay on?  For now, yes!  In future?  Allahu Yaalam!

May Allah (SWT) continue to grace us with patience, more Islamic knowledge, the will to help each other, to be positively pro-active and to change the negative image of Islam with hikmah and fortitude.  For Islam is a truely beautiful Deen.  Islam is a way of life.  May we enable the others to see it for what it truely is.

For those like Jannah and the other sisters and brothers with Islamic websites that continue to teach us more each day, May Allah Subhanna Wa Taallah increase your Ajar, your Emaan, your Adab, etc.  May you all continue to be leaders who are modest, who listen to others and who impart knowledge with wisdom.

And may we all learn from you and each other.  May we look deep into ourselves and correct that which is wrong within us first and then move towards making a positive difference in other lives.

My best wishes to all.

Halima

I second that, sister Halima!  MashaAllah, La quwwata illa billah  for this website, where we can all learn from each other, discuss islamic issues, and remind one another.   :)

Thanks to everyone who have 'built this city', (all moderators: may you always do things only for the sake of Allah)

and to all residents who made it grow.   :D

Salam,
:-)

Your post really got me pondering sister Halima…

I’ve always found your presence inspiring … what was the quote you use to carry… ‘great nations are raised on the laps of mothers’ … Masha’ Allah.

I enjoy madina so much...

My year end review was due a little time back here… Every day now, I too consider whether to return … for the addiction factor here (smile) & due to the fact my initial purpose that I was seeking within (when I first registered) was met several months back … (although the journey continues on) I thank ‘all’ the members here greatly for all your brotherly/sisterly support & guidance… both realized & not…. Alhamdu Lillah.

…  A year here has provided so much … I’ve never felt such a benefit from anything in such a short period of time. (& I wondered why the concentration) Then it struck me… I believe time here has been about the most ‘selfish’ thing I’ve done in my life. (perhaps that balancing factor brother Bhaloo made mention to)… I could come here to a truly ‘living’ point in this world & just take & take & take anything I personally desired without obligation, weight, requirement or dependency. The diversity that resides here offers such a wealth of elements… there is such a great mix of personalities displaying lightheartedness intermingled with sincerity. The points of ‘knowledge’ that float within offer tiny bits of  ‘real’ improvement in small steps…  while taking ‘personal’ time that nourishes … & perhaps the theme of  ‘Islam’ keeps it all from being too superficial… (I'm not sure about that.... just a thought)... however:

It’s quite a combination that Jannah (& the crew) have been able to provide… Subhan Allah… her side of the board probably proves to be not so much ‘selfish’ as ‘selfless’ … but Alhamdu Lillah she seems to do it with such grace that I often wonder (smile)… they all do.

Small elements may not seem like much at first sight… but combined… there benefits do start to compound quite rapidly... Insha' Allah... Subhan Allah

A truly heartfelt Jazakum Allahu Khairan... Jannah, Crew, & Members alike.

Again... Ameen
