:-[ Salam everyone. Inshallah everyone is doing good. Are young children judged for their bad actions? Is there a certain age at which they begin getting judged or have bad deeds recorded?? Or are they dismissed at certain ages because they are young and not able to make the best decisions?? Do I make sense?? The answer is important to me and would greatly be appreciated. Also, is this correct?? : Everything that happens to you, happens for a reason, it is all written before, but the decisions that we make, are out of our own will but Allah already knew what you were going to do and what decisions you were going to make......so therefore we still had no control over what happened in the past? Correct? Thanks sis's n bro's Sis_ Sunnah |

[slm]
Are young children judged for their bad actions? Is there a certain age at which they begin getting judged or have bad deeds recorded?? Or are they dismissed at certain ages because they are young and not able to make the best decisions??
people (including children) are not judged until they are in a position to know what is wrong and what is right. That is why people who have lost their minds, or in a state of stupor, or children upto their "coming of age" are not accountable for their acts. I would need to research, though, and that will take some days. But this is what I remember. i don't know what the problem and what the circumstances are? If you do not want to post it in public, you can IM me. and don't worry too much. Allah is kind (swt), and forgiving.
Also, is this correct?? : Everything that happens to you, happens for a reason, it is all written before, but the decisions that we make, are out of our own will but Allah already knew what you were going to do and what decisions you were going to make......so therefore we still had no control over what happened in the past? Correct?
this is the old question of "qadha and qadar" part true and part not true. everything does happen for a reason. and it has indeed been written before, and there is a Hadith which says "the pen has been lifted", but there is another Hadith which implies that some things can be re-written. I don't know the authenticity, though. It is true that Allah "knew" and "knows" everything (including the decisions we are going to make) beforehand. but it is not true that we do not have a free will. Ali ibne Talib (ra) was asked this question. He asked the questioner to lift one of his legs while standing. This was complied with. Then he asked the questioner to lift the second leg as well while keeping the first leg up in the air. The questioner complained that it was not possible. Ali said this is the answer to your question on qadha and qadr. in another more recent explanation (where the analogy is not to be taken too far), i read that suppose there is an schoolmaster who knows his students very well. He can predict what each child will write in the test given to him. except that Allah (swt) need not predict, He knows! yes, we do have control. We can stop resisting Allah's message, and get up and do things, and desist from the actions He does not like. and He has given us the powerful tool of asking for forgiveness. He has said something like "O son of Adam!! if you come to me with a pile of sins that is as high as the sky, I will forgive you provided you do not commit shirk, or do not meet me as a mushrik when you die ." again the exact text has to be researched. but it should ease your mind. |

[wlm]
Are young children judged for their bad actions?
;)Only by us and neighbors... Their good deeds are recorded.
Is there a certain age at which they begin getting judged or have bad deeds recorded??
The records of their bad deeds are not recorded until 'the age of understanding' often thought of as puberty. An Interesting Quote: Golden Principles of Raising Children By Imam Abu Hamid Muhammad Al-Ghazali CHILD’S NATURE AND PARENTS’ OBLIGATION Since the composition of the child’s heart is such that it can accept the influences of both the good and the bad, the righteous and the evil, it’s the responsibility of the father and the mother to incline the [heart of the]child either to good or to evil (Imam Ghazali is not giving us a choice in this matter, but instead, urging us to incline the child towards good otherwise the child will automatically get inclined towards evil due to the parents’ negligence). [slm] Thanks to sister kathy for posting those links. :) indeed, the concept of fate/destiny (qadha' & qadar) is a mind boggling concept. the more we think about it the more confused we will be. But do accept that we have free will in our actions, that we decide whether to do good or evil. But its a mind boggling issue, because we think that time is linear - that the clock on earth ticks at the same rate as the clock in the Heavens. (its just an analogy, so people, please don't shoot me if you disagree whether there is a clock up above). i.e. time is a relative concept. In the qur'an, Allah make this known, in a few verses a) 23:112 He [Allah] will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?" 23:113 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account." 23:114 He will say: "Ye stayed not but a little,- if ye had only known! b) 70:4 The angels and the spirit ascend unto him in a Day the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years: c) 16:77 And unto Allah belongeth the Unseen of the heavens and the earth, and the matter of the Hour (of Doom) is but as a winkling of the eye, or it is nearer still. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things. d) 22:47 Yet they ask thee to hasten on the Punishment! But Allah will not fail in His Promise. Verily a Day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning. e) 32:5 He rules (all) affairs from the heavens to the earth: in the end will (all affairs) go up to Him, on a Day, the space whereof will be (as) a thousand years of your reckoning. f) 30:55 On the Day that the Hour (of Reckoning) will be established, the transgressors will swear that they tarried not but an hour: thus were they used to being deluded! another book on the concept of destiny, go to harunyahya.com and look for the book, timelessness and the reality of fate. its free to download. peace, :-) |

[slm]Chidren 's mistakes before puberty is not a SIN but parrents are respnsible to apply the proper penatly to stop the kids going ahead with mistakes other wise if they are left with no conrol they will take this oportunity as special to be used as much as possile before the chance exprises (before puberty ) and this is very dangerous for them that they may take is as a habbit well ALLAH'S knowing what we are going to do .many people say then why we are to be blamed for what is already written by ALLAH. It is like when you know your kids who is clever and who is not and you k now who will win the grand prize and the small .according to your experience but giving the best to one than the other means less or more love but its what each of them deserve ALLAH knows about all we are going to do but he gives each of us according the effort we have done [wlm] |
