All our problems etc....

I was just going through these threads in the naseeha corner thinking about all our problems... all my problems...

Then someone just let me know someone we used to know passed away in a car accident. Inna lillah wa inna ilaihi rajeeon. From Allah we come and to Him we return.

Sad thing is.. her journal is still public where she wrote about how she has all these things she needed to do and how she was stressed out about school, life, planning her wedding, etc. Written 9 days before she died. She also writes about how her fiance is the love of her life and she can't wait to spend the rest of her life with him. :(

Here's what my friend wrote in her journal as a memorial:
I only knew [...] shortly but she always had a good sense of humor. Her journal put me in tears. Her insomnia, her plans, her future, her complaints, her honesty. It could be any one of us. Allah is truly the greatest of all planners. May Allah grant her a place in paradise in a garden underneath which rivers flow. May we all live each day as if it were our last, striving to increase our deen and become closer to Allah.

Puts everything into perspective for me subhanallah.

Wa'alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullah,

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'oon. 2 beautiful quotes I read somewhere about death:

"What is Life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the winter time. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.".............Crowfoot, Blackfoot Warrior and Orator, 1890.

"Watching a peaceful death of a human being reminds us of a falling star, one of a million lights in a vast sky that flares up for a brief moment only to disappear into the endless night forever.".....................Elizabeth Kuebler-Ross," On Dying and Death", 1969.

Wassalam.

i'm to hear about her.  inna lillahi wa inna ilahi rajioun.

everyone have their hopes, desires, to do list, but when someone young dies, it just reminds you that we are just travellers in this world, and that our lives are short...

Innal lillahi wa innal ilaihi raaji'oun

aameen to Jannah's duas

may Allah (swt) forgive her and be pleased with her, and give her the best in the new world she is in.

here one moment, gone the next

but then we go on to our true destination. Our stay in this world is like staying in a hotel, or as the prophet (saw) said, something like: live like a traveller, who take rest under a tree when he is tired, and then goes on.

when we know the the traveller is on the next stage of his/ her journey, why do we feel sad?

death at a young age is specially sad, but this is to remind us that the next moment may be our last. nothing wrong with making plans for the future, but if we remember where we have to go, and what we will need for that, our behavior would be a lot different, and life would be a lot more comfortable, perhaps.

Innaa lilllaahe wa inna ilaihe ra'jeoon. May Allaah have mercy on her and on us.

Something similar happened to me a few days back. A Muslimah I knew died. Of  kidney cancer. I didn’t know her in person, only knew her nick and those thoughts and parts of her life that she chose to share over the internet. I knew she had a husband and a very young son. And that she was brave and patient in the face of her illness, after she got over the initial shock of being diagnosed something as terminal as cancer.

One of the sisters who actually knew her, informed others on the forum about her death. Amidst the prayers for the departed sister and her family, someone brought out a few of her posts. One was her very first post in which she had introduced herself,  in another she spoke of her feelings after learning about her condition.

That just got me thinking…the internet isn’t always about ppl pretending to be someone they really aren’t. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that there are real ppl with all too real lives behind the screens. And that’s another reason why we should all be careful of what we write.
Our words, when they leave us, acquire a life which may be longer than our own. They can inspire, enlighten, guide, bring comfort and  build hope. They can irritate, wound, mislead, bring tears and cause immense pain. They continue to define us even after our death. Just another thing to think of before we hit post …
