| Need Help concentrating in prayer? |

| salamualakum. Whenever I pray I find it difficult to cocentrate on what I am saying. Other thoughts come in. They interfere. I'm afraid my prayers won't be accepted. Any way to cure this? |

| [slm] I have this problem too - If Im not thinking of other things entirely, I always think of ways to concentrate which defeats the purpose! Things I do - If I'm alone and praying by myself I will pray aloud, or, whats better, read surahs I know the meaning of. I think the latter is more beneficial to me, because then I'm not just making sounds but understanding what I am reading. | [slm] This happens to all of us.The devil wants you( us) to repeat the prayer once and twice to reveal to us what we have done is not correct .If you do this it becomes a boring prayer that you take the decision. to stop praying untill you can be well concentrated and do it well. So pls dont repeat it ( if this happend may be) But try to think of you are standing infront of ALLAH .this will help It might still happen again but insist to challenge believing your prayer is accepted WA ALLAH AL MUWAFIGH |

| Wow! I got the same problem myself. I'm terrified my prayers will not be accepted. Satan whispers too much in my mind and sometimes I forget how many rakas I prayed. Are there any hadiths with regard to slips during prayer and how to correct them? I feel so guilty sometimes when I make mistakes. Makes me feel as if I wasn't serious. :( |

| Salam! I too have thoughts running through my mind when I am praying. The thing that I find works good is to pray out loud. Other than that, I also need another idea on how to help that. Sis Sunnah_ |

| [slm] Is it better to pray only fard with concentration and focus than also sunna with a wandering mind? Is it better to pray any time within the alowable period than it is to pray asap without a settled mind? I dont know. I only have an opinion and I dont know how valid it is considered. |

| To get rid of such WASWAAS (confusion )dont try to repeat the prayer,or think about if you have done it well or not.Always believe it is accepted . I hope this will help ;-) |
