Anyone else feel the same? |

[slm] Ever had popcorn without butter? Or an ice cream sundae without the toppings? (I could go on with the food metaphors for a while…I’m hungry and on a diet…hope you get the general drift…) That’s how this board feels to me without jannah. Filling…but some vital ingredient seems missing. Not to say that the other mods aren’t doing a great job, they are masha’Allaah…but this board feels a little hollow without her. It’s almost as bad as the days they closed it down for revamping…note [i] almost [/i]. It’s amazing how quickly you realize someone’s worth in their absence. Ever since I’ve joined here I log on in the mornings and while I’m surfing she’s sometimes logged in. I keep lingering until she’s through posting and then I go back to the threads she posted in, reading her words with a chuckle or a shake of the head. I don’t always agree with her views but there’s no denying that her presence and personality along with the many many amazing bros and sisters posting from around the world is what makes this place ROCK . Her contributions to various threads… stimulating debate, subduing arguments, sparking comments…are the ones I read first. Insha’Allaah when she eventually gets busier with the stuff-of-life stuff , I pray that she still has the time and energy to contribute here. She probably has no idea how many ppl’s lives she has touched so positively through this board…may Allaah reward all those associated with it. The Prophet SAW said of a person who praised another Muslim excessively to his face…”you have broken your brother’s back”. Meaning that it’s not a good idea to praise someone to their face since this breeds sycophancy, riy’a [showing off], pride etc…That’s why I’m starting this thread in her absence just to let her know how much her efforts are appreciated. May Allaah reward this awesome sister with the best in this life and the next. Meanwhile, waiting for the sheriff to get back to the Madina, safe n sound inshallah. |

[slm] -- Ameen [quote]Anyone else feel the same?[/quote] Subhan Allah … I too was thinking the very same (ok close to the same) thing on this end … it does feel quite different without her presence … somewhat hollow is how I’d describe it too… although there have still been some very fine/beneficial contributions … She fulfills such a different role/essence ('taste' ;) if you will) in it all. I pray as well that she is rewarded for the link of benefit she has offered to us all by the hand of Allah(swt) Himself … Ameen [wlm] |

[slm] That was a good one, Kathy. Doubt anyone can top that. I had a smile on my face for the rest of the day... |

as salaamu alaykum, awww.. it's true you shouldn't praise people too much, but Rasulullah [saw] also taught that if you love someone, tell them :) see jannah and u always said u were neglected as the middle child.. :P |

I had the best of both worlds. Everyone doing everything for me, while me having the utmost independence. poor Jannah. She needs to be told we do miss her. jannah, we miss you. |

And Yep, i too miss the mismanagement err i mean miss management! [slm] ps: How about all of us delete our posts in this thread before she returns ? |

[slm], I'm pretty new to this board. Was wondering what would be a good name for me. I picked the name So Human. Know why? Because it is so human to make mistakes and be wrong! :D If I couldn't make mistakes I would not be human anymore. I learnt of the board from sista amkamb. Sorry to say she no longer will participate in the board discussions. Anyway, I wanted to remark that sista jannah indeed has got a nice board here on the intarnet. I was thinking that's a lotta work and dedication. |
