asalam alakum,
welcome back and mabrouk! inshAllah may the child be a righteous believer inshAllah!!!! sorry can't give advice, never been pregnant, all i know is don't drink caffeine, stay away from those who smoke (second hand smoke), and drink lots of milk. I am sure the mommys on this board will give you a ton of good advice.

Mabrook  :-* .  May Allah make things easy for you.

I second kathy's advice about reading.  I add
eat well and go for walks.  Take a lot of calcium,
you need it.   Take things easy.

There are nice websites with advice for
expecting mothers.  I think webMD contains
useful links.

Welcome back sister offcourse we remember you and congratulation for your first baby. May Allah bless you and your baby.

I'll second to sister onemuslimgirl that I can't help you much since I have never been pregnant either but honestly speaking I don't think one must need to be pregnant to give advice about it. Anyway I think we have a lot of experienced sisters to help you.

Welcome back silver rose.

My advice is that if you can swing it, have your husband sleep in the other room with the newborn.  that way if he-she cries at night your husband can take care of it and you can get your rest.

SILVEROSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome back Sis and Congrats!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy for you and wish you a wonderful and blessed marriage and also an easy labor when the time comes and a healthy baby.
By the way my daughter-in-law says the book

MaashaAllaah!
May Allaah swt bless you with good health and a healthy, righteous baby!!

My list of things to do:

1. Read a lot of the Qur'an esp Surah Maryam for inspiration and make a lot of dua for the baby and yourself that Allaah swt eases everything

2. There's this wonderful book by Dr Miriam Stoppard ...illustrated and all...covers virtually every aspect of pregnancy and childbirth including list of things to carry for yourself and the baby when its time to go to hospital and what to eat...invaluable for first time moms...my husband gave it to me when I was expecting my first baby  :)

3. Make a birth plan and discuss it with ur doctor/nurse...familiarize urself with hospital procedures if ur planning a hospital birth...

im me if you need to talk or for the nitty gritty....I just had a baby 6 weeks back alhamdulillaah

Wa'alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Welcome back sister  :). We definitely remember you. MashaAllah, great news that u are going to be a mother soon. May Allah make it easy upon you, and bless you with a child who'll beome an asset for the ummah (Ameen).

Comments about babies (since it was asked): I LOVE BABIES  :). I have 2 nephews, one 7 and a half months old, and the other one 9 months old. They are getting naughtier day by day. Babies keep you "busies" (That's a made up plural of busy, since they really keep you busy).

Wassalam.

Masha Allah Sister.  Congratulations and may Allah bless.

Advice...

No caffeine.
No smoke.
Take your vitamins, don't over due it though.
Do lots of small walks...don't overdue it.
Eat moderately, more than normal.
Cravings for dirt, pickled whatever is normal.  Drs say that if you're craving that means your lacking in something.  Like dirt (cousin) is protein.  Anything potatoes (me) is carbs.  Other weird stuff.  My other cousin had cravings for cantelope so she would eat them all the time, and I mean all the time, when her baby came out, he was almost orange and that wasn't jaundice.

You'll start liking things you hated to eat before and vice versa.  I loved doughnuts then when I was pregnant, I searched for the person who was eating a doughnut 10 offices away and told him that I hated him.  So you'll have lots of good times.  A child is a great blessing from Allah.  Never forget that no matter what.

Allah Bless.

Ma-asalama...

Welcome back Sister…

Remembered … has it really been six months already…
& a little rose on the way… Al hamdulillah … Masha’ Allah  :-*

Hope you have time in between to offer posts now & again … Insha’ Allah …
Looks like you’re on your last leg of it there … then they are pretty physically demanding the first three years or so …’physically’… remember not to hesitate to invest your time & effort (investment for the sake of Allah swt) …  the rewards are all to follow in multifold … Insha’ Allah …

May Allah swt hold you so close & offer blessing/assistance to your family… Ameen
