| [slm] My friend is having trouble getting muslims to participate/become members of msa in their community college. There are only three members right now and two will leave the college this semester. Any suggestions on how to get people to come and participate? |

| [wlm] SOCIAL ACTIVITIES!!! should be a huge part of any MSA. Have stuff like an 'ice cream' social as the first meeting of the year.. then have some regular type social activities.. dinners, potlucks, eid and iftars...doing stuff together like soup kitchen or volunteering etc... When you have stuff like hard-core halaqas or classes and lectures, people are intimidated especially those who weren't raised in a hard-core background, but everyone knows how to eat! and everyone knows what to do at a party... Muslims developing friendships and hanging out with other Muslims is a huge step for some people so it's important that the MSA acts in that role as well. |

| [slm] My MSA is suffering from a similar problem. Right now were trying to organize a lecture to bring Muslims in. Depending on how much money you have, you might :)want to have pizza or something. Like Jannah said, food can do wonders. |
