I am not a desi neither do I have any Indian blood in me but give me a bowl of piping hot mutton ribs dalcha and french toast and I will literally dive into the bowl. Yummy.... :D

Ok..thing is I have this craving for a really superb mutton dalcha recipe.  Thus far the one I have involve cooking dal, mutton ribs and adding potato and brinjal and carrots and green chilli. Thats it.  It tastes nice but I was wondering if anyone has recipe for a homemade dalcha thats really out of this world. Would appreciate it.

Disclaimer : This is not me craving but my baby  heh heh ;)

We pakis call it daal-gosht, cause its just daal (lentils) and gosht (meat). Not very popular except maybe at cheap roadside joints. You should graduate to a much better dish which is much higher on the evolutionary ladder than "dalcha"--its called "haleem".

superFOB, I'm curious, are you a brother ;-) or a sister :-)? Sorry dont mean to sound sexist, but its just unusual that a brother have such a vast knowledge of recipes and cooking.  Either way I'm impressed!  :)
Every single thread about recipes, everyone knows the thread aint over 'til the superFOB mack has been laid down.  8)

I don't know nadeem, I just used a sewing machine for the first time in my life and got it right the first time! And as you can see, I have even dropped the gender icon from my profile.

PS: don't get any ideas pal

Hey guys! Chill! :)

superFOB, maybe I didn't express myself properly. :(  I was trying to pay you a compliment! :)
I was saying I'm impressed how much extensive knowledge you have of different recipies.

I was also stating what I believed to be true: That most men, especially of Eastern cultures, do not know how to cook. :(

Then I asked if you were a brother or sister (because you do not have an icon and I didnt know).  The reason I asked this, was so I could say if you are a brother wow! you can cook and know so many recipies.  And if you were a sister, then wow! I am still impressed with your culinary skills. (My original post says "Either way I'm impressed")

Please, this was an attempt to simply compliment and nothing more. The question about your gender was curiousity, nothing more.  It seems in this case I was the cat.  (And you know what happened to curiousity and the cat!)

I was not trying to say you are any less of a man, or that ONLY women should cook.  I can cook aswell.  I make my own cereal, and I can fry eggs, and last week I made some toast (with jam!).  See, you're not the only one! :)

I hope this clears things up :)

Everyone, sorry for the interruption and I'll let you continue with your excellent, non-gender-specific recipies and equal-opportunity culinary delights.

P.S. You used a sewing machine? Seriously, are you a brother or a sister? You never did answer that one.

:D

Hey, I am now jannah-certified :) Well thank you, but credit goes to my mother, who made us brothers toil while completely spoiling our only sister.

Heh, one of my friends cooked for EIGHT straight months while his wife was pregnant, extreme eh.

Good job sherlock, I don't think I EVER mentioned my marital status. Let me show this to my wife, lol, j/k. Btw, I am pretty flexible, not at ALL limiting myself to "fobettes".
