Rally and Picket

Stop the bombing now!
U.S. troops out of Iraq!

Time: 4:00pm
Location: U.S. Consulate, 360 University Avenue
Called by the Toronto Coalition to Stop the War

The Toronto Coalition to Stop the War has called an emergency rally and picket to condemn the U.S. occupiers for their increasingly brutal attacks on the Iraqi population and to stand in solidarity with the Iraqi people as they resist the indiscriminate violence of the illegal occupation.

Over 700 Iraqi civilians have been killed in the recent siege with more attacks happening daily. Reports coming out of Iraq indicate that U.S. forces have been shelling make-shift burial grounds as clerics and family members try to bury the dead. U.S. forces have also recently destroyed food supplies brought to Fallujah in a relief caravan from Baghdad.

We call on all peace and anti-war activists to join us this weekend for a pan-Canadian weekend of actions against war and occupation. Dozens of emergency actions have already happened with more planned in the coming days.

The emergency picket, called by TCSW, is an opportunity for people to voice their dissent against the ongoing US-led occupation, and to publicly support the citizens of Iraq, as they struggle for freedom from yet another US-designed oppression. The picket is organised as a peaceful, broad based rally.
