Feel free to ask any questions you may have. They not only help the questioner to learn, but help others to learn as well.

shukran all for ur kind welcome i am sure i will enjoy it here inshAllah with such friendly brothers and sisters  :) and mmmmm...  []that qiblah cola was delicious!  ;)

yes indeed A_stranger nasraani is a christian

well as many have requested my conversion story i spose ill have to tell it, as a young boy i was always at church on a sunday, i was an altar boy, i believed heavily in Jesus as "the son of God", but as i grew older i started questioning and doubting christianity as i noticed more and more loop holes in the theory that Jesus was God. This was eventually compounded when i read in the Bible how Jesus went behind a mountain to pray to God, i asked my sunday school teacher why was God praying to himself? she didnt give a satisfactory answer, and i fell out of faith, well not entirely as i still believed in God, but i did not believe what i had previously.

Around this time i gained a few muslim friends, Allhamdulillah, a couple of pakistanis, a somalian and a nigerian, i was naturally curious as to their beliefs and asked many questions, that was when i was around 12. I started reading more and more about Islaam, the oneness of God, the glory of God, fearing God, it all made so much more sense to me than christianity had ever done. It progressed to where i started reading the Quran, saying arabic prayers, engaging in Ramadaan, celebrating Eid. I came to realise several months ago that i was muslim in all but name, so i took the final step in my path and took the shahadah. ;-)

most of my family have islamaphobia so its been hard for them to accept that i am now muslim but inshAllah they will warm to the idea, and treat me no differently.

::) phew so there we go "my story" hehe

Al-hamdulillah ala kool ahal. Allahu Akbar!

Assalamu aleikum,

and congrats brother on reverting to Islam. May Allah grant you wisdom and strength to stay on the sirate-mustaqeem inshaAllah. It is always inspiring and motivating to meet and listen to brothers and sisters who have joined islam. Especially as muslims like me (who are born with muslim family) who have had no sacrifice in their path to islam, take it for granted, and are often not aware of what hardship and resistance our brothers and sisters are meeting (talking about myself here :) )  because of their decision to join the muslim ummah.

Wa salam

Brother Makki, I was greatly impressed by your conversion/reversion story.

Alhamdulillah, it is amazing that you began to ask questions pertaining to the truth about God at such a young age, when most of us are too busy watching cartoons and running around in the park! :)

And the fact that you did it in a family environment that was "a bit Islamaphobic", and your confidence in saying "inshAllah they will warm to the idea".

Mashallah, brother you are truly an inspiration to us all! :)

On a side note, have you seen the "Wrong Presumptions" thread in Naseeha corner?  It is quite an interesting discussion about the lack of accomodating women's needs in the mosque amongst other things.  I notice that you said you are from Watford.  I have been to the mosque in Watford, mashallah it is very nice, AND it accomodates women, on a raised gallery behind a lattice of sorts if my memory serves me correctly.

Welcome again []

shukran brothers and sisters

i have been very touched by the warm welcomes and the praise i have been given at this site, truly humbled perhaps. But i am most thankful to he who is most mighty, it is he who is most great who guided me to Islaam, Al-hamdulillah 'ala kool ahal! Thank you however and yes i suppose i must be wise beyond my years non?  ;D jokes jokes I must confess brother Nadeem i have as of yet not visited the Watford mosque, i have been to a Mosque in Hackney though, but only one mosque visit ever? :s its something i need to correct, i know. but inshAllah i can change this.

oh yes brother Nadeem, i maybe younger than you perhaps but i too have a love for those retro tv shows airwolf, a-team, knigtrider ;) i watched the transformer movie the other day again, inspired by your posts, no jokes! Take that star scream! It has too be the coolest thing since Qibla Bebzi ice cold!  []
