Why does Allah test some people more than others?

assalamalaikum everyone,
I am asking for help here because I have nobody else to ask for help or tell my problems.
I am a muslim Alhamdulilah, but I have been having problems lately.Everything seems to be
going wrong for me. Sometimes, i just ask myself:"why does Allah test some people more
than others?" I know I should be patient, but its hard. It feels like never ending stress.
So much stress..school, moving and everything. I try to pray salah, but thats getting
REALLY hard also. I feel lazy and procrastinate everything. Its like the shaitan is getting
to me. I used to pray at the prescribed times, but now I keep thinking that praying isn't
going to help me. I know i should be thankful for every single blessing...but still
thinking all that doesn't help me.
I know its wrong to think that way. But, what should I do? Its like I am all alone in a
dark room, screaming at the top of the voice, but no one listens.
How do i increase my Imaan? I want to get back to the straight path. I am really reallly
lost..
Jazakallah khair for all the help.
walaikumassalaam

Allah tests some people more than others because He LOVES them more. He wants them to pass these tests, learn from their mistakes and tribulations, develop patience and wisdom, become stronger people, repent from their sins until their hearts are so pure they are deserving of Jannah.

Everyone will be faced with trials, very difficult trials.. where u could choose one way or the other, but we are never faced with more than we can bear. Allah promises us this and if we look at our problems objectively we can attest to this.

If we don't take the first steps to try to improve ourselves and become better Muslims how can we expect Allah to help us. Just do your best. Take steps to become a better Muslim and try to be patient. Learn the situation of many people around the world who are much more worse off than ourselves.

Inshallah with time you'll be able to deal with your problems and grow in your Iman and become stronger :)

If you look at our daily life you will find for any thing you want to get there are tests to be passed

when you want to promote from grade to grade there are tests
when you want a job there are tests or interviews (a part of a  test )
but we dont dislike these tests because we know the result is what we are looking for
we dont blame our teachers or employers for the tests they give us because this is the road to the success we are struggling for

ok and we know the more the test is harder the more the goal is higher ,the tests are given according to the qulification and skills we claim so who  has chosen this?either the student for instance or teacher  isnt it? so both ways we know  that test is must and we are very proud  when some one tells us this hard test is only for the  clever ones and when we are one of these

There is nobody  unless  he/she is not mentally normal who prefferes to be the lesser ,we all like and strive for the best (permissible) and we know we achieve that through  test

Try to challenge the satan and go ahead with facing the tests because they are for your own benefit

Salam Brother/Sister Anonymous,

I know you're probably feeling quite low right now, and sometimes it feels like nothing is going right.

Sometimes if I feel like that, I just try to think of all the good things in my life, and all the good things that Allah has given us, and all the lessons we have learnt from mistakes and bad things.  Soon I feel much better, and the bad stuff doesnt seem as important.

I also try to remember the story of Prophet Ayoub (Job in English).  Allah tested him with many hardships but still he turned to Allah, and in the end Allah granted him much good.
If you like you can read the story in jannah's articles section (which is great by the way) or click here http://www.jannah.org/morearticles/50.html

Here is a good quote from the middle of the story:

:-[Iblis again called on Allah. "O my Lord, Job’s wealth is gone, his children are dead, but he is still healthy in body, and as long as he enjoys good health he will continue to worship You in the hope of regaining his wealth and producing more children. Grant me authority over his body so that I may weaken it. He will surely neglect worshiping You and will thus become disobedient."

Allah wanted to teach Iblis a lesson that Job was a devoted servant of his Lord, so He granted Iblis his third request but placed a condition: "I give you authority over his body but not over his soul, intellect, or heart, for in these places reside the knowledge of Me and My religion." :-[

it seems that it is time to get some perspective anonymous, doens't it?
from your point of view, things are too close and take more than their real size, however if you step back a little you might be able to see things a little differently.

if you focus less on yourself, and think more of the big picture you might feel a little less overwhelmed.  how do you go about doing that? there are many ways, but what has worked for a lot of people is to have a structure to their life.  divide your time so that you are able to do your prayers, fulfill school work, have some fun with good friends, and be involved with charity work and volunteering.  You can volunteer a the community hospital, at a women's shelter, or maybe with a relief orgnization.  even if the work just involves filing documents, answering some calls, reading the newspaper for the patients, you will derive satisfaction that you were able to help in someway.

exercise would not hurt either.  what do you like?  walking?  that is a great activity you know.  it will positively change your mood and outlook.

monitor your diet as well because the food you eat can make you more depressed.  the less the sugars the better.  protein is very good and so are fresh fruits and vegetables.

take care
wassalam

this my be kinda vague and general, but as someone who has had a lot of trials I've noticed a thing or two.
Sometimes we think we have to do everything that is on our plate when we dont, sometimes something is expendable when we think it is necessary, sometimes it seems to take us way too long to figure out wnat we can get away with failing at.
Sometimes being successful at something is not worth the cost, and failing at it my do us more good than we know.
Allah is good, and he can see more than we can so sometimes we dont understand waht He is up to while we are inthe midst of soemthing but hind sight is 20/20.
Well, I hope that helps
and sometimes its good to increase protien and sugar both ;)
