| Assalamu Alaikum, The First Annual MAC Youth East Zone Tarbiya and Ilm Camp (MAC EZ-TIC) May 24th -30th, 2004 Camp Kakeka, Haliburton The goal of the camp is the holistic development of its participants. It is designed to help participants develop: Their spiritual relationship with Allah (SWT), a more comprehensive understanding of Islam and Islamic work and to equip the participants with the understanding, ability and motivation to be successful Islamic workers in their communities. The camp will focus on achieving these goals through a 1-week commitment to Tarbiya and Ilm, with the expectation that the development started at the camp will continue thereafter. The camp will model previous ‘Tarbiya and Ilm’ camps organized by both MAC and MAS and will center around the methodology of Tarbiya: a comprehensive and balanced approach of transformation based on Knowledge, Understanding, Spirituality and Brotherhood/Sisterhood. InshaAllah, by the end of the 1 week period, students will have strengthened their relationship with Allah (SWT), developed strong bonds of brotherhood & sisterhood, increased their understanding of Islam and will inshaAllah, leave with a more comprehensive understanding of what it means to “work for the sake of Allah”, a balanced approach and healthy attitude towards Islamic work and a renewed sense of urgency and commitment to such work in their respective communities.
