I feel like an idiot for having to post this up but I need help writing a short draft as to why I would like to work with children.  I have an interview tomorrow and the supervisor asked me to come in with this.  I'm applying as after school group leader.  I can't think of anything except that I just need a job. Any ideas?

Assalamu alaikum
Well if you're interested at all in children/child psychology/development you could say that you feel you'll learn a lot from the children (and you will), you can say that you get along great with children and that you've always been around them (if it's true of course, like if there's a lot of kids in your family) and you've had a lot of experience babysitting (have you?), that it's refreshing/a nice change to be with children, that you're creative and you think you can bring a lot to them....
imho you have to really want to work with children, it's going to be a lot more than just a job  ::)

I work with children and I'm drawing a blank to your question! ;D  anyhoo, I think perhaps you don't have to relate it to kids especially, just emphasize the good qualities you have that can be related to the job.  E.g.  you are responsible, cite an example of this, reliable, had previous experience?, feel you could cope with them, you're understanding and have the skills to deal/sort out matters etc.  Kids can be a handful but it could be personally rewarding working with them.  Job satisfaction?  That's all off the top of my head.  Good luck with it and post how it went!

What for, to tie them up when they get particularly abnoxious?  ;D  or to put over their mouths when they throw their tantrums?  :D
Sorry  ;) that's just my association with duct tape, watched too many movies where hands were tied with it  ::)
